Is anyone following this plan?
Is it restricted eating for a week-then you count propoints?

I'm very,very,very selective over my food choices:confused3
I could not bear to be told what I can/ can't eat-due to digestive and taste issues;)

Also, does anyone follow online plan?
How does this actually work?

Please could you give me some info-I really need some help on the weight loss front-sadly don't need any assistance on the gaining front!?

Simple start is basically the filling and healthy programme.

For the first 2 weeks in simple start you eat from a list of free foods and choose 2 treats per day from the specified list. After The 2 weeks the main plan stays the same but the 2 treats are swapped for 49 weekly points. You can of course continue to use the points plan if that works better for you!

After week one I lost 5 lbs!

I was completely put off weight watchers after watching a documentary called "the men who make us thin". They had one of the founders of weight watchers who basically said they know it doesn't work long term but that's ok because that's how they make their money!

That's just awful-I was thrilled reading first response and disgusted reading yours!
I suppose all big businesses really are in it for the profits,it would be naive to think otherwise. But clearly, you don't want to actually hear they don't care.:sad2:

personally I'd never pay to join a 'slimming club' I have an app called My Fitness Pal , you put in your height weight , activity level and goal weight , and it give you a recommended number of calories to loose between 0.5 to 2lb a week ( you choose how fast). I find it great as you can scan barcodes of everyday food and it can be a real eye opener. I'm not hungry and still eat the things I like , also you can add exercise and activities to track calories burnt. I've lost over 2 stone with it .

I watched another programme about WWs which said that the leaders make £20,000 a year. Utter nonsense, and I know because I was a clerk for a long time. I take all these programmes with a pinch of salt.

I'm doing the Filling and Healthy and it works for me. That's all you can say, try it, if you lose weight and are happy with what you eat, then it works! It's not rocket science, all you need is some portion control which I think is the hardest thing. Once you have mastered that, it's going to work.

On the other hand, if you stick to any plan it will work. WW is only as good as the person following it. I like F&H because I eat very plainly, I'm not one for lots of sauces and messing with food. I can eat fish or meat with veggies and I'm happy!

Whether it's a check, point, sin, green or original, at the end of the day it's a calorie. Stick to a controlled amount of calories, weigh and count everything, be completely honest with yourself about what you're eating and you will lose weight. I'm nearly 4 and a half stones lighter than I was this time last year and feel like a new person. Good luck :)

I'm doing the Simple Start and I downloaded the app too. I like it! I just need a framework for healthy eating and the recipes are simple and easy to follow. The "build your own" gives some parameters that make cooking easier. In the end (like most diets) it's just a strategy to focus on making healthy choices. For those who don't struggle with this, it's probably not a big deal. However, I really needed to narrow down my choices with some level of confidence that it's tried and true. I also like the fact that the portions aren't limited.....

It's good so far.....

I joined the on-line programme (with cashback from Quidco they actually pay me for the first 3 months!).

WW works for me (as long as I stick to it) because I find it easier to fit anything into the plan. The online/phone tracker makes it easy to work out the points value, even for recipes that aren't WW.

My biggest problem is that I don't have an 'off' switch which is why SW doesn't suit me as there is too much unlimited food. I need strict guidelines when it comes to portions and amounts.

I know there are lots of ways of losing weight without paying but paying focuses my mind a bit more and I need to have someone (other than myself that is) to answer to!

I am doing this and love the fact that crumpets skimmed milk and ww bread are unlimited. However I limit to 2 crumpets or 3 slices of ww bread a day. I have lost 9lb in 4 weeks now. SW did not work for me.

Hmmmmm I wonder if this would work for me?

I lst weight using the old points system (before pro points) and also though I still count everything on a maintenance plan I would like to eat unlimited as id like a break after 4 years of counting.

I'm not sure it would work as I too don't have an off switch and I'd eat all day if food was unlimited.

I tried it after Christmas and hated it but gave it a go this week again and was more open to it. I thought it would be a disaster but i found taking my time eating and judging when im full and giving the rest to the dog meant I wasn't pigging out. Plus i needed to stop using my pp for chocolate and SS made me think about my treat and general food choices. I think it works great if you like plainer foods and if your dinner doesn't have to be in a sauce but passata was my weapon of choice if I was making sauces and it works great too.

Will know how successful it was this evening (WI at 6pm) and I'll report back then ;)

Looking forward to seeing how your SS week went. I really like the Filling and Healthy, hope it works this time for you.

I was down 4lbs so it went great! I was so against it when I first tried it but it definitely helped me cut down the junk.

Well done! That is a great incentive to keep going.

Can I be cheeky and ask if anyone has the PDF list for simple start that they can send me?
I downloaded it when I was a online member but have lost it and since cancelled my account.

I don't have a PDF but I can photocopy you my list and post it to you, if that helps?

Well done you!!

I just think for me if crumpets and skimmed milk are free foods I would sit drinking coffee and eating crumpets every spare minute I wasn't in work!!
