We go on the holiday of a lifetime july next year, discovery cove booked, kids very excited..BUT .. me and hubby are both 5st overweight!:wave2:

I know if we go at this weight it will not be the same as going a lot slimmer it will spoil the holiday. :(

I really need to do something about it. :confused:
Has anyone else been in the same situation struggling with weight or have lost weight for thier holiday of a lifetime?:confused3

I've also got a holiday booked for next year - and a similar amount of weight to lose. Last time I flew the width of the seat was a problem and I'm at least a stone heavier now!!!! So you are not alone.

Now's the time to start, we have a weekly weigh in here on the UK Community Board that you could join in with. We also have a WISH Board (Were Inspired to Stay Healthy) you may find will give you lots of hints and tip's. I have lost 2 stone this year :) but between now and Christmas I aim to try to stay the same and then after christmas I would like to loose another stone or two for my holiday in April.

Hope we can inspire each other :)
 

SNAP:( I also would love to loose weight before my holiday next June. It would be great if i could loose 3 stone, but i'm finding it really hard to get into a diet now the cold weather is setting and all the christmas chocs are on the shelfs!!


Any tips would be great

Another one here. You arent alone. Had a good week last week and lost 5llb, but have just had a terrible weekend and will have to start over today. I wanted to lose another stone by Christmas, but Im struggling. Weekends are the hardest for me....any tips gratefully received!!

I've struggled with my weight for a lot of years and I feel so fat at the moment. Things changed for me after a flight to corfu this summer and I could hardly do up my seat belt, at that point I knew I had to do something about it.

I read a really good book by Dr Phil called ( I think) the ultimate weight loss challenge. this really helped and motivated me. I joined a gym three weeks ago and have lost half a stone so far, I can already walk further and climb stairs without gasping at the top. I would recommend excercising as well as changing your diet. I'm nearly always the fatest person in the gym, but I dont care!!!!

I also have a holiday booked in wdw next august, hopefully, I'll be a lot slimmer and healthier by then.:D

Another here, I've got a heck of a lot of weight to lose and am finding it hard to lose. I joined Slimming World a few weeks ago, had an 8lb loss the first week and 5 the next so was chuffed to bits. I'm also starting to swim a lot and take the dogs out for regular walks. Sounds like we all need to inspire/encourage each other. I'll definitely have a look at the page Kaylee mentioned. We can do this girlies!

I gained 4.5 stone about 5 years ago when I had to leave home and go train for my job ..... the problem was I was sooo homesick I kept comfort eating. When I finally got to move home in the March I decided that I needed to loose weight for my wedding in the December. I managed to loose 4.5 stone in only 8 months (went from a size 16 back to a size 8)!!! The secret was not dieting but changing my lifestyle!!!


I joined a gym and reduced my fat intake to 10 grams of fat per day. I have managed to maintain my size 8 for 4 years now just by eating healthy and keeping and eye on my fat intake!!

It's a great feeling when you see that weight come off and people are telling you how great you look, and it's even better when you have to go buy a new wardrobe as nothing fits anymore it's too big!!! loosing 4.5 stone gave me soooo much confidence soo come on .... it can be done!!! It's not about diets its about changing your lifestyle!!!

everyone, come and join in to weekly health check in thread, we usually go on about how to lose weight effectivley and we all congratulate or comiserate(SP) depending on what is appropriate for the gain/loss!

I have lost 22.5 lbs since April and I am so much happier, I think the trick now is keeping it off, especially as my three week trip is looming next week and the lure of all that wonderful food in Orlando is alot to bear!

Another one here, i,ve just startes a placement in the operating theatre and discovered that the extra large trousers are really tight, id love to lose some weight before facing that 9 hour flight !!

RIGHT THATS IT!!!

I will join weight watchers tomorrow and this is the begining of a new me.:flower1:

I refuse to look Mickey or Minnie in the eye being a fattie, i will go to disney, i will not have an extension belt, i WILL be slimmer, i will go to discovery cove and be able to fit into a wet suit and i will be happier and healthy.:cool1:

Now where's the chocolate! :cake:

Can I join ladies? I've always struggled with my weight too. And for months now I have tried to diet for my fastly approaching trip, but I lost 5lb, then put it straight back on? So I need some support and inspiration.

I've done it before, that's what annoys me! After I had my son 8 years ago, I gained about 2 1/2 stone and I was always a "big" girl anyway. But then I changed my eating habits and started to exercise and lost 3 1/2 stone. I was alot happier, confident and of course, healthier.

I met DP just over 2 years ago and to be honest I don't think the pill has helped? I've put 1 1/2 stone back on.

I think it's a little late for my holiday?

But maybe, with a little help from my new found friends, I can get that weight off again, and be happy, healthy and confident again? :goodvibes
