Hi all!

Are any fellow DISers on the Weight Watchers time to eat programme at the moment? I went to my first meeting last Wednesday and was given my 10% goal of just over a stone. The team leader wouldn’t give us our goal weights on the first week because I think he thinks that it might put us off! He has lost 12 stone in total! WOW!

So far I have been good, although yesterday I did have a Mars Delight!!!

So I guess the point of this thread is for everyone that uses weight watchers to post their tips on how they manage to stick to the programme, and encourage other DISers to keep up with it………….. Just remember it will all be worth it in the end.

So I will go first my tip is……..Try to drink lots of water – it does fill you up!!

Yep me.

I got my first weigh in yesterday and I have lost 8lbs.

I joined WW in Oct 2002. I reached my own personal goal of 2.5 stone loss by June 2003 and since then I have managed to keep within this target give or take a couple of pounds some weeks up some weeks down.

When trying to loose I found organisation for me was the key. I would sit down on a Sunday and plan a menu for each day for the coming week, keeping within my points and I would take my lunch into work with me (we have a fridge and a microwave so this helped). Every other week I would have one day, usually a Saturday, where I allowed myself to have a day off and eat pretty much what I wanted.

Since maintaining I find what works for me is to be good and keep within my points Mon to Thur and then I eat and drink what I want over the weekend.

Even when I’ve been on holiday and ate and drank pretty much whatever I wanted I’ve never put on more than 3lbs. And so long as I get back onto the pointing as soon as I get back I’ve lost it pretty quickly again.

I also go to the gym at least 3 times a week and have to say that exercise, much as I hate it, does make the weight come off quicker.

Personally, I think WW is terrific and have found it very easy and it has now become a way of life for me but I do know a few people who have tried it and it hasn’t worked for them.

Well done Muppet on your loss so far, keep with it, it is all worth it in the end.

If there’s anything I can help you guys with please let me know.

I've recently dug out all my old weight watchers stuff (too tight to join again & can't be bothered to go to the meetings anyway!) as I've put on 3 stone since having my 2nd daughter 4 years ago.

I thoroughly recommend weight watchers. I have lost 10lbs in 3 weeks. Only another 2 stone & a bit to go then!!

Good luck to all those trying to lose weight.

well done every one!! I hope that I have lost some when I go back tomorrow!:wave2:

Well done to you all.

I am doing Slimming World at the mo, lost 12lbs :)

My advice would be, don't be too hard on yourself and allow yourself the odd treat. When you do "breakdown" and have something "naughty", just be strict with yourself the following day and get back into it. It's really easy when you cheat to then say "stuff it" and pig out.....for the next few weeks! ;)

Good Luck! It is very difficult trying to lose weight (I speak from persoanl experience as do a lot of people!)

I joined 4 weeks ago (just before a holiday to Butlins!!) I lost 6 lbs first week 2 lb the second, missed a week as I was away, then came home and found I stayed the same. We were half board at Butlins and I ate reasonably well especially at breakfast.:D I did have salad mostly for evening meal and didn't snack during the day. So I was well pleased to not put any wait on. We'll see what happens tonight.....fingers crossed

I am off tonight so I will let you know how I get on!! I hope I have lost something!

Good luck to all of you weight-in tonight:D

Good luck with your weigh-in. I've been doing it on my own for awhile but I think it's time I actually went to the class to give myself more of a kick up the bum, so I'm going tomorrow. Organisation is the key for me - I normally do my menus for the week before going shopping then buy all I need. It helps keep me focused. I've got an exercise bike that I use 4 or 5 days a week plus I'm starting to go swimming and I go for long walks at the weekend. Good luck to everyone who's trying to lose weight.

:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: 2.5 lbs!! yeah I am so pleased :teeth:

Well done:D Great feeling when you step on those scales and find out you've lost, isn't it!

I'm on it too.
I went tonight, and I lost 2.5 pounds this week, weeeeeeeee.
That takes me to a total of 15.5 pounds in 8 weeks, so I'm well chuffed, and I got my "stone" tonight.
I've got one of the Bonus Buddy pedometers, and that has really helped me. I got it two weeks ago , when I'd hit a plateau and lost momentum, and it's really motivated me to walk about everywhere (helped by the good weather). I'm sure it's helped. I only wish I'd had it at DLP last month, it would have caught fire !! And shame it can't claculate extra points for carrying children on your shoulders.......

Keep going, everyone, and if you have a bad day, there are always another 6 in the week.

Hi,

I've been going to Weightwatchers since January and have lost just under 3 stone!! (Yeah, I know I did have a lot to lose!!!) Thoroughly recommend it. You should stay for the talks afterwards, you can get some great tips!!

65 women and me!!! Heaven!!

Good luck everyone,
Andy

well done to everyone who has lost some weight this week, if we all carry on to support each other we all be at goal weight before we know it!!!

I've been going to Weight Watchers for 18 months and have lost 4 stone (I actually lost it within 12 months but have been faffing about for the past 6 months)

The thing I like about WW is that you eat real food and can adapt it to your own lifestyle.

It was hard going for the first few weeks but once I had made up my mind I found it not too hard to loose the weight. I even managed 3 weeks in Florida last year and only put on 1.5lbs :hyper:

Then I hit a wall, stopped counting the points and just lost motivation - I put on 10lbs over 6 months and when my weight hit 14 stone it gave me the wake up call I needed.

I have been truthfully counting the points again and have lost all the extra weight and regained my motivation - I have another 2lbs to go to get ahead again and overall still have 3 stone to loose to get to goal.

I feel tons better not only physically but emotionally too - it is a great buzz to actually by "nice" clothes rather than getting something just because it is the only thing that fits.

If there is anyone struggling out there - don't give up keep plodding on and eventually you will get back into it.

Good luck

I'm doing Slimming World at the moment and I have lost 1 stone in 4 weeks. I am eatings LOADS!!!! and still having treats (just not as many!)
Anyway good luck to you all I know how it feels (good and bad) when you get on those scales
