Weight Watchers - how expensive is it and what do I need to buy?

It's FREE for me now, as I am a lifetime member. I did the monthly pass. It was $39.95 per month. I had access to etools online (loved that!) and was able to weigh in and go to meetings. Once you make lifetime it's free, you only have to weigh in once a month. However, I can weigh in every week and go to the weekly meetings FREE, I just have to stay within 2 pounds of my goal weight. If I weigh in at 3 lbs over I would have to pay the fee for that week, and work on losing those extra pounds for the next weigh in. I didn't buy anything extra from WW. I did buy a food scale from Walmart for like $5, and I recommend the points calculator from WW at $10 (not necessary though). WW works! It's a lifestyle change, and I highly suggest this to people who ask for the best way to lose weight and get healthy. Good luck!

Just a suggestion-my health insurance will pay for Weight Watchers (Blue Cross/Blue Shield)-definitely worth checking out.

I have Cigna and on their mycigna.com website there are links for discounts.

I joined WW online & I love how easy it is. I think it was $60 for 3 months. The online site is really good at calculating points. If something is not already in it, all you have to do is enter the calories, fat and fiber and it will give you the points. Also, you can enter in your own recipes, and it will give you the number of points. There are also a TON of recipes to choose from online, so you really don't need to buy any cookbooks. There are also forums to join as well.

I know I would not go to the class and so the online version has worked out well for me. Good luck! :thumbsup2

I am thinking of getting an iPhone. I plan on joining WW next week. Are there any apps for ww? I would definately go to meetings but having an app would help.

I use the Monthly Pass and it costs me $39.99/mo and gives me access to both meetings and online tools. This is the cheapest option if it is still available. You can track your progress as well as your Points online, yet still get the support of personal meetings. I think the meetings are a must. It's the only thing that keeps me honest - because I know I have to get weighed in by someone else..

I know..I quit last summer and the weight has slowly come back..I know I can only do it if I am actually paying someone to weigh me!

9 years ago I bought the WW At Home kit for $99.... used it exclusively (never went to a single meeting). I lost 120 lbs doing it   and exercising :thumbsup2 They still have the kit, but it's obviously updated (and still $99!)

There's also a Deluxe version for $129 and you get more stuff with it (cookbook, exercise DVD, etc...)

I still use my cardboard food point calculator and refer to www.dwlz.com for food point values at restaurants and such.... you can also access a lot of the WW.com website at no charge (discussion boards, etc)'

Agreeing with everyone else that it IS indeed a lifestyle change... I've kept all but 8 lbs off which I intend to get rid of this year :thumbsup2 I haven't changed my way of eating healthy or exercising, but I'm 9 years older and metabolism does change with age.... also, my exercise routine needs a shake up since I do mostly the treadmill.

Good luck to you!
