Question about the weight limit, website says that the minimum weight is 90lbs. Considering doing this with my DD who weighs a lot less than 90. Is the weight minimum a combined minimum - if we go tandem, we weigh more than 90. Or does it mean each individual must weigh more than 90lb?

IME dd was well under 90 and they just had her go tandem with big brother ...

We just did this on Friday, and my daughters are both close to 90 pounds. The gentleman was going to let both girls go together. (We planned to go with a kid each and kept it that way)

Is it possible to select a time for parasailing? I'd like to do it, but I'd also like to the 5k and wouldn't want them to clash...

You can select a time. When I went to sign up for it there were several options starting at 9:00am and going as late as 3:30pm.

We also ended up switching times. Originally we had 1:30 selected and noticed some clouds coming in around 11:30. They moved us to 12:30. We went to Cookies2 at 11:30 for opening, ate lunch, then grabbed the tram back to the ship. (Marge’s Barge is where you meet and it is right as you get off the ship). There are no washrooms there, so we walked back to the ship, and up to deck 2 (Enchanted Garden Restaurant). So word of caution to use the washrooms prior to if you are tight for time. Thankfully we were not

I know this is resurrecting a fairly old thread, but this is exactly my question. Can anyone with recent experience confirm that the minimum is a combined weight?

Yes, you book a time for parasailing (just like a shore excursion). The 5K also isn't at a specific time, so you can always work that around parasailing (though doing the 5k earlier in the day is usually a good approach, before the sun is directly overhead and it's super hot).

With no further input, I’ll give my deductive take on it. They do not guarantee single rides - you are more likely to be tandem. While the weight limit has a minimum and a maximum, the maximum single rider (375#) is the same as maximum pair. I think if you are riding tandem/paired, one rider could be under the 96# minimum. Possibly, both riders - as long as they meet a combined weight if the minimum.

I looked at other parasailing websites that allowed ~45# riders. They probably rode tandem.

Still hoping someone has the real-life experience to answer this one.

We parasailed in August 2024. My son & I went tandem (side by side). He is about 66lbs, I'm 150. There was no question or asking about our weights.
My husband and teen daughter went side by side too. There was another teen/mom combo side by side. Then we had two teen boys that went back to back tandem (not side by side) and we had their mom who went with a single lady side by side.
I think the two tour operators just went by families/looks and didn't ask anyone their weight.

Thanks!! Our daughter is right around 66lbs so this is perfect info.

Thanks for weighing in on this subject 🤭

We've only gone parasailing once and not Castaway Cay. DS was no more than 50 lb at the time but she was allowed to ride tandem with an adult.
