Does anyone else have this???

I do great all week, this week, I lost two pounds, the week before, another two. But, I could be losing more if I didn't totally drop the ball every weekend.

This weekend, I had fast food twice, and went to two other restaurants... not to mention the crazy espresso drinks. You know what I'm talking about.

Anyone else have any good tips on dealing with the weekend??? :confused3

I hear ya! I love the weekends because of no work but when it comes to eating bad things... I sometimes indulge... :( I think to myself if I can do it all week then I can do it on the weekends... You have to keep telling yourself that your trying to lose weight and eating that stuff doesnt help. I noticed that when I go food shopping I have to make a list and stick to it but if I want a peice of chocolate (which is my weekness) I will have a little peice.
Hey if you feel like your going to become week just remember your goals!

Weekends are my downfall as well. I think that it's the change of routine that throws me off. We're also very busy doing things as a family on Saturday and Sunday, which often involves eating Italian at my in-law's, or a BBQ gathering of friends. Mother's Day weekend was the worst with DD16's birthday party and the Mother's Day activities thrown in there.

I try not to beat myself up over indulging a little on the weekends. I know that my new diet is not a temporary thing and that I have to accept that there will be some times when I eat food that isn't the healthiest choice or skip exercising. I probably could lose weight faster if I didn't "fall off the wagon" every so often but I refuse to totally deprive myself of the things that I enjoy just because I haven't reached my target weight yet.

It has taken me a loooong time (almost a year) to get to the point where I can behave (somewhat :rolleyes1 ) on the weekends. Getting off the weekday routine is tough - it's like a free-for-all! I started with changing one thing at a time. First, it was water. I'd always drink 100+oz per day during the week and about 30oz on the weekends. Now I am up to 100+oz 7 days a week. Next I worked on 5-6 mini meals per day. I have finally managed to stick with that on the weekends as well. My next thing to tackle is fruits & veggies. I do great getting them in during the week, not so great on the weekend. If you know you are going to go out, either eat something healthy right before or order an appetizer instead of an entree. Or better yet, split a meal or bring 1/2 home with you for the next day's lunch.

It takes time, but eventually you can retrain yourself and get into some healthier habits!

misslissa -- ohmygoodness you are me :)

weekends have been my downfall for the past YEAR or more and that is probably the biggest factor in why i regained the weight i put so much effort into losing. then for a while i just wasn't in the mojo, you know what i mean -- every weekend i had a social justification to just nevermind this weekend, next one i'll be better.

i think i'm slowwwlllllyyyyy losing -- i'm fluctuating alot and the weekends are my downfall. for now i'm trying to take it day by day and get through each weekend day. if i fall off saturday then i get back on sunday instead of the whole weekend -- i'm hoping to get back to where i was once -- which for me was one 'cheat' meal a week; that is when i allowed myself all those foods i had been craving off and on all week, or went out to eat etc. but then got right back on plan the next morning. that was a good place for me and though i'm still working on it i know i'll get there again

Thanks everyone for your ideas and sympathizing.

I feel awful after this long weekend (Canada) and hopefully this will be memory enough to not do this again!

I feel gross!

We had a friend visit from out of town and were out and about all weekend...

During the week, I get free meals, and so it is easy to just make sure they give me a salad everyday and that works wonders for me!!! :wizard:
