After our nephew's graduation we are hoping to spend a night in Chicago. What should/could we plan on doing? We will have the kids with us!!

Sears Tower? Navy Pier?

How about the Field Museum or Shedd Aquarium?

We are going to Chicago in June for our anniversary trip. I posted a thread not too long ago asking for ideas. Here is the link to it.

Thanks Nicole....I will read that thread. I've checked out the sites for the Tower and the pier. We will probably only be there for a day...spending the night outside of the city.

I am wondering if we'll be able to drive or if we should park and walk. We've visited NYC a few times, always leaving our car at an aunt's home and taking the train in, then walking most places.

Depending where your aunt lives, take Metra downtown and either walk or cab it to where you want to go. If you plan on going to the Museum of Science and Industry, you are better off driving there, as it is out of the downtown area.

Parking downtown Chicago can be as high as $20 dollars. I would take the train. I would never drive downtown. There are so many things to do in Chicago. just shopping alone can be a day long. If you have a daughter go to American Girl Palace that is a place in its own. Go to the museums and Navy Pier is also great and has the childrens museum.

Is Second City still open? DH and I went there many, many years ago and laughed our behinds off. (I wish)

I can't really add more than I put in Nicole's thread, but maybe a late night bump here. Also, parking 'as much as $20'? It can be over $30 now.

I have to vote and say take the train in if you can! A group of my friends and I went there and we took the train in on Friday and wandered around NP for a short while. We went back the next day to walk around the city, but this time we drove. Navy Pier had parking for $18/day, but the drive back was kind of long... towards the end of it, trains were passing us by ;)

Really i could walk along the Lake and just around the city all weekend and be happy there... have fun :teeth:
