Weekend Game Plan!

I know weekends are difficult for a lot of us to maintain our healthy eating habits so let's post our weekend game plan to help us focus.

I always have hard time on the weekends and I know this one won't be any easier since we have a "safety school graduation" party for my dd tonight, plans to go to the International Food festival this weekend (am I nuts?!) and a family reunion on Sunday. However, my game plan is to have 1 full plate of veggies, and good-for-me food before I even think about eating anything else and hopefully then I'll be too full to do much damage.

I'm also going to try to stay away from alcohol this weekend since I think it makes my good judgement where eating is concerned fly out the window.
 
Nicole, I think you are right. Avoiding alcohol is helpful to staying on plan and making wise food choices.

We have no special plans for this weekend. I'll be facing no challenges.

It is helpful that my husband and brother are also on Atkins. Even when we have cookouts all of the food is legal for our plan :)

Excellent idea, Nicole. Having a plan for the weekend or any other day, really, is very smart. It can save us from ourselves.

My weekend game plan:

Tonight (Friday) I plan on having homemade pizza- 14 points for 2 slices. It's really yummy and very filling. I have had 7.5 points so far today, so I have 17.5 left. That will leave me 3.5 for a snack while we watch movies for our Friday Night Family Night.

Saturday- We are going shopping tomorrow, so I plan on having Special K waffles (2points) along with 1 point worth of light syrup. For Lunch I will have 2 low fat cheese quesadilla's with homemade salsa (6 points for 4 tortillas, 1 point for 1/4 cup FF cheese-split between the 2 quesadillas, Salsa 0 points). We plan on having dinner at Applebees since we were given a gift certificate. I could have the Lowfat Grilled Talapia for 9 points, low fat chicken salad for 8.5 or the Lowfat veggie quesadilla for 12.5 points. I think I want to try the salad since I have tried the other two meals. That would be 18.5 points for the day. Add a 2 point afternoon snack, and 3 or 4 point snack in the evening and I will come between 23-24.5 points for the day.

Sunday is my husbands birthday!!

For breakfast- I will have an egg,(2points) 1 slice bacon , (1point)1 slice of toast Light bread (.5points), Just Fruit spread, (1 point) =4.5 points
Lunch - 2 corn tortillas, sprayed lightly with pam and baked (2 points), 1/2 cup of refried beans - (1 point), 1/4 cup of FF cheddar cheese split between the two tostada' (1point), Homemade salsa (0 points) = 4 points

Movies - Water, bottle -brought with me (bag of 94% fat - free kettle corn) 4 points (10 cups)

Dinner - Left with 12.5 points for dinner. Not sure what he will want since it is his birthday.

Great thread, Nicole, and great plan for you! :) I am on a cheat free/no alcohol challenge until the 4th. Woo-hoo! Was thinking earlier today that I'd like something different to drink tonight, so I am going out later to get a bottle or two of San Pelligrino sparkling water and a lime. I figure a very cold glass of sparkling water with a lime twist will give me that "frou frou" drink feeling without the alcohol/empty calories/throw my common sense out the window from drinking stupor... ;) ha ha!

Plans for working out are to power walk tomorrow and Sunday morning and do my weight lifting, but no pilates or rollerblading until Monday. Then we have some new WW meals to try tonight and tomorrow for some variety! ;) That's the plan and I'm sticking to it! I know it will pay off come next Friday's weigh in!

Fri night - DH is making chicken. I just beeped him at work and asked him to make extra so I can freeze some cooked.
Planning on finishing my walking if the thunderstorms havent started - did 20 w/Tammie this morn, have 10 left
When DH goes out to play poker DS & I are watching a video - National Security. Will most likely munch on a cup of pretzels while DS has his popcorn.

Sat - taking DS to Davis Farm/Sprayground. When he has his ice cream I'll either have a pretzel (yes I do eat too many pretzels bud do include them in my calories/food intake) or fruit/yogurt which Im planning on bringing w/me.

Sun & Mon - taking DS to Buffum to swim, collect frogs/turtles/tadpoles. Taking fruits & yogurts w/us. Did this Monday and it worked out well.

Sat, Sun & Mon (wknds are 3days until after Labor Day) Im planning on my 30x's around the "gerbil track"
Sat morn also need to finish mowing the sides & back - front was done Wed night

This wknd should be no trouble for me. It's next wknd when DS & I go away for 4days/3nights.

Oh Cool Thread Nicole...this will help me stayed focused!!

Fri...Staying on Low Carb & Calorie...high Fat plan. Which is no Problem..have a softball game tonight..so its always easier to forget about food when playing.

Sat..daytime..no problem...Nighttime...surpirse birthday party for Best Friends DH. Having dinner at a steakhouse...MY PLAN is to eat some meat, with a salad, maybe some veggies. NO ALCOHOL!!!

Sun..Stay on LowCarb & Calorie...high fat plan.

I want to be in Full Swing Ketosis again by Monday...not only for weight loss...I just feel better when I am there ie...less bloated, lighter.

i'm feeling unplanned

tonight we are picking up my oldest DD from camp at 7:30 in which she will not have eaten, so we'll stop for dinner. I'm not sure where yet either!! yikes! i plan on warming up my leftover grilled veggies around 4:30 or so and filling up with veggies before we even go. Then I plan on a side salad or cup of soup or something similar for din-din.

tomorrow - usual breakfast and lunch. I don't plan my meals beyond the day that I'm mudling through. My girls both have parties in the afternoon so that will alleviate the need for a "real" dinner and we can all fend for ourselves!

sunday - I have an early committment in the morning so brekkie before I go and probably coffee on the road :) I hope to be back well before lunch as my road trip partner is a big FF junkie!Regular day beyond that, maybe going to Mom's later in the day to sneak over and see my brand new second cousin born yesterday!

I have a freezer stocked with some Lean Cuisines, HC ice cream treats, and salmon patties. I should be good to go. I stopped at a farmer's market today and bought peaches, lemons for my water, plums, green peppers and cucumbers. hopefully this will all get me through my cheat-free challenge, until the 4th!
 
I still find weekends really difficult. I can work hard all week at sticking to my diet and going to the gym but when the weekend roles round I just feel that I should be having something more. I don't necessarily mean food but it usually follows that way. I'm really trying to fill my weekends with things that make me fee good and happy and that way I don't need that rush through food.
