We left Friday morning (May 3) at 5:30 am. By the time we picked up inlaws and got onto the turnpike it was 6:30 -better than I had anticipated!
Uneventful 3 hr drive! Got to Epcot around 9:30 and inlaws got their FL play 4 passes.
The flower and garden show was wonderful! The topiaries were great!
We walked onto Spaceship Earth- very disappointed in the changes! I didn't even smell smoke in the part where Rome is burning! Next was HISTA- no wait! This was cute , but DS didn't like it. We went to Ice Station Cool and got some drinks-some good, some horrible (Germany's wasn't bad). Got inlaws to taste the Beverly (ha ha). Walked over to TT- 90 minute wait. DS didn't want to ride anyway and we were hungry, so we went over to Garden Grill for our PS. I have to say that the difference in dining on the lower or upper level makes a HUGE difference!!!! Our first time (only 3 of us) we dined on the lower level and LOVED it!!!! This time, we were on the upper level at a table in which we could see other diners, a huge flowery wall and CM's and characters going in and out of the back. We couldn't see the Land ride. The food was great as always, but it wasn't the same experience! We decide to head over to CBR and check in. We were only parked in the 9th row at Epcot, but the heat was UGH!!!!! This was when I would have gladly paid any amount to stay on the monorail!
We got to CBR and checked in- no wait. Had a lovely CM- Marty-very friendly! Our rooms were ready and we got all our requests!!!!!! We had NS, connecting rooms in TN (building 33)-on the first floor- 3301 and 3302 -right by the bus stop. We unpacked, changed and headed over to OPR. The pool area was crowded, but we got a few lounge chairs. I couldn't believe there were actually people laying out and trying to get sun! I am from south Florida and nobody I know does that. Instead, we were slathering on the sunscreen, under our hats, sunglasses, t- shirts! The guy next to me was beet red! I guess he hasn't heard of skin cancer, which every old person in my building has! I got a drink at the Banana Cabana and went into the stores to look around. After that, I went down the pool slide. My DS loves the water and he just learned to swim, so he was having a ball! The resort was really pretty, but too spread out for me. Before going back to the room, we walked around the island. That was really nice. After a little rest in the rooms, we decided to go to MGM to let DS ride Star Tours and get that out of the way. When we got there, the parade was just ending so we had to wait a little. By the time walked up Hollywood Blvd., Marcus was asleep in the stroller!!!!!! Oh ,well. DH and I sat on a bench and FIL and MIL went to see Muppets. After that we walked over to the Backlot tour and Dh, FIL, and MIL went in ,while I sat at a table in the shade with DS (by the big coke bottle). It was so HOT at 6pm!!!!!!! I drank a whole bottle of water just sitting there and I was wetting DS's hair the whole time, trying to keep him cool while he slept. After that we woke him up and went on Star Tours (about a 5 minute wait). We decided to go to DD, but I really didn't want to go with them, so I took the bus back to CBR. When I got in the room, I took a long bubble bath and relaxed in bed, watching some of my favorite shows (Reba and Maybe It's Me). They came back around 10pm and we were in bed asleep by 11pm.
Tomorrow.... AK, Epcot and Le Cellier!
