Early planner here--helps me survive til we get "back home!"

We will be arriving in Orlando on Friday, November 28th--presently scheduled to check in at VWL on Sunday---haven't decided yet where we'll spend the Friday and Sat nights--planned to do a little shopping at Downtown Disney, take in the Ice Show at Gaylord Palms, also thought about dinner at the Dixie Stampede. We've done SeaWorld and Universal and really don't want to invest the funds in doing them again this trip. If anyone has spent Thanksgiving weekend in Orlando, can you give us some hints on where you stayed, what events you took in, restaurants you've eaten at, etc. anything would be helpful.

We have gone the weekend after Thanksgiving the last couple of years and we usually start as we mean to go on...at the parks. We go to Downtown Disney, relax at the resort, hit a park maybe just for the fireworks. It is pretty busy the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving, but slows down considerably on the Sunday after.

From what I have been reading, the Dixie Stampede has closed down. We have done Universal and was not impressed for the money we would have to spend to go there for at even one day.

Our favorite thing offsite to do is dinner at Texas de Brazil and if ya'll like waterparks Sea world is opening Aquatica, it looks really cool.
