HI
I have been the first week in December and it is great. Could not go this year. We will be in the World May 21-28th, right before the BIG memorial day weekend. What will the crowds be like. All the books say the entire month of May is good, but it is as good as December??????Anyone with first hand knowledge????Thanks!!

We've been the week before Memorial Day a few times. The crowds are not as light as late January/early February (I've never been there in the beginning of December, so I can't compare), but they aren't too bad, particularly on the weekdays.

Our last trip there (late May, 2002) was the first with our young son, and we made a point to arrive at the MK at opening. We were able to ride all the Fantasyland rides in about 1 1/2 hours. In the afternoon the lines got significantly longer. The other parks all had similar crowds (somewhere between light and medium). The weather can range anywhere from comfortable to hot, and we did need jackets on one or two nights. It tends to be dryer during May... I've never had a rainy day during my May trips.

I think you'll enjoy it.

Our family was there those exact dates in 2002. It was hot and fairly busy. No one in my family used a jacket except for me - I got chilled after it rained while we were in Epcot. At first we were bummed about the rain, but then learned that it was a blessing! Cooled everything off and wiped out the crowds. We went to MK and had our best day of the vacation traipsing around in the light rain. It was great! We also had a great day at Blizzard Beach when we were there. Definitely get there for opening. Anyways, we used fastpass and took breaks and it was a great vacation! In fact, we are planning on going this year at the same time, sort of a last minute splurge! We will be staying at POR, same as last time. Good luck!

We went that week last year and the crowds were not too bad. We had a great time and are going back the same time again this year. We used the fast passes and got to ride everything we wanted plus we went back to the resort in the afternoon for a swim and a little break.

Have a great time!:Pinkbounc

We'll be there from 5/22 - 5/31. Can't wait to get back and hope the big crowds hold off until the weekend. We're planning all the must sees for early in the week and just take our time later.

Coloradodis...I think you have the right idea. We were there 2003 the week before and including Memorial Day weekend. The closer the week got to the weekend the more crowded it became (obviously). We didn't really notice real heavy crowds all all (I'd call them moderate tho I haven't been at any other time...it was our first trip so nothing to compare it to).....we took advantage of EMH (you should see the stream of people coming into the parks as we were leaving around noon!!!), did the afternoon break, then returned in the late afternoons to the parks. Never waited more than 20 mins for anything (good use of fastpasses, too!!) It was funny cuz my friend who looked at the pics of us swimming in the resort pool commented on how we were pretty much the only ones in it (timing is everything it seems!!). We assumed that AK would be the least crowded park that fri of Memorial Day cuz everyone flying in would head to MK first day and it seems we were right. Took advantage of EMH and we practically walked right on all the big rides and only like a 5min or less wait for character meet and greets. I think if you use the strategy that you mentioned you should be fine. Memorial Day weekend I couldn't comment cuz we were at Universal with FOTL!! Hope this helps!! :wave2:
