Just curious, if anyone has experience with vacationing at WDW and Theme Park attendence during this week? Looking to possibly go this week next year, as my kids always have the last Thur/Fri in Oct. off school, which next year would be the week of: Oct. 21 - 28..

Our trip last year was beginning of Oct., and I thought it was pretty busy, we often found standby wait times of anywhere 20 minutes - 75 minutes for rides like Splash, BTMRR, TT & Soarin'.. Of course we utilized FASTPASS when we could, but we were desperate to try TT & I hate to admit this but we did wait 70 minutes to ride  not even sure afterwards that was worth it, but we did!

So I am assuming Oct. was maybe a little "slower" it's now "medium" crowd levels - "high" crowd levels?? Of course given the price structure of rooms, it is in regular season also, instead of value.

If anyone can help answer this for me, THANKS!

Chip

I think that's a good week. I would avoid Columbus Day weekend, but I think that's earlier in the month.

Last year we went the 3rd week of October and it was very low crowds. Columbus Day was the week before. Free dining was done. Parks were empty in the morning. In the afternoons you would see 60 minutes on Soarin' but we always used FP. We went to DS on our first day (a Monday) and ToT was a 20 minute wait in the afternoon! That's it! We thought it was a great time of year to go.

Thanks Kim, 20 minutes I can handle, I would probably even make do & standby for 30 minutes depending on the attraction, but any longer than that & my kiddo's would drive me NUTZ!

Thanks for the quick reply!

I'm going this week (24th-29th) and I'll let you know when I get back.. should be fine though.

Chip91,
This will be my fourth trip during WI teacher convention week. We have found the crowds to be manageable. Epcot's F&W fest, and MNSSHP to be fun. The weather has always been nice, not too hot. We went during free dining in Sept 2005, way to hot, not sure if I can book a trip during that time. We did love the free dining. Check airfare early if flying from WI, the flights can be expensive during the four days of teacher break. princess:

We're going 10/24-10/30. I will post an update when we return
