Planning a trip for the week before easter in 2008. I've read that the locals come on Sat. So, anyone know if it's better to go on the week before Easter on a week day or the Sat. before?

A weekday is always better than a Saturday, unless the weekday itself is a holiday.

A bientot.

I agree, if you have the choice, always pick a weekday over a Saturday.
The week before and the week after Easter is always crowded, but weekends are even worse.

Thanks I'll have to rework my schedule. My gut instinct was to go as soon as I could. I'm glad I asked.

Also, a lot of people get off on Good Friday, so you might want to keep that in mind. :)

A weekday is always less crowded than a Saturday. If entertainment is important to you (fireworks, parades, Fantasmic...), check the shedule. Often these are only shown on weekends. Personally, I would take a smaller crowd over fireworks.

I made a mistake. I'm planning to go the week before Good Friday. Thanks Mary Jo for pointing out Good Friday. Anyone know when the So. Cal kids are out for easter break. We're always the end of March usually mainland kids are out around Easter..but I'm not sure the week after or the week before or both. I think from everybody's post it's still better for me to go the Mon. and Tue before Easter rather than a Fri. and a weekend. Spring Break or not.

Our district is out the week after Easter. A non-scientific study (just talking to people I know) says about half the districts are out the week before and about half are out the week after. Our AP's are blocked out both weeks.

Thanks for the great idea. Disney knows best when their crowds will be. I'll check out the blackout dates on AP's. I sure hope I can find that easily.

Check Disney's website under "annual passes." Somewhere on there you will find a calendar with block out dates for the different types of passes. If you can't find it, send me a PM and I'll look for you. I'd do it now, but I'm off to Little League, although I'd really rather go visit Mickey (don't tell DS!).:ssst:
