I'm just back and we have a free dining bounce back booked for Dec 15-19 2017. But now that's disney has released the 25% off tickets for Canadian residents that don't expire until 14 days after first use we're considering cancelling the bounce back and either going at the same time or perhaps spring break.

The dilemma is that going in December is super pricey for flights but how busy is spring break 2018 going to be?

We have typically found the week before Christmas to be less crowded than spring break. Crowd calendars support that too. It's good time to go and fun to see the Christmas decorations. Weather in unpredictable, though. We've had great luck with high 70s and 80s, but usually it is cooler than that. And one Christmas season we went at night it got down in the 30s -- burr. // If heavenly weather is an important criteria, the spring break time is really great for that. // Either time is busy enough were rope drop days and touring plans help. And I have noticed spring break time seeming to get more not less crowded as the economy has improved.

For me - it depends on how much you love Christmas. If you are a Christmas person, Christmas time at WDW is amazing and worth the additional expense.

The week before Christmas is a pretty good time to go...it gets busier as the weekend approaches...and if you have never been to WDW during the Christmas season, then that is another reason.

We've done both. But our spring break is the week of St Patrick's day which is kinda early.

The Christmas atmosphere is pretty amazing - all the resorts and parks have some level of decorations and then there's the opportunity to also enjoy a Christmas Party at MK with the pretty spectacular Holiday Wishes.

Spring Break was great for the weather. It was dang near perfect. It was never too cold or too hot, and we were able to enjoy the resort pool every day we were there. We were also able to enjoy the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot which was a real treat, very beautiful.

But, for the "con" side, the week before Christmas was good weather but not great. We barely got one swim in at the peak of the day and even then it was only about 70 degrees! And it rained the night we were at DHS and it kinda sucked because it got cold real quick and we were wet so we ended up just leaving. It rained during our spring break at MK and it was very different. The temp didn't really change, and we just hung out cause most other people left. I guess people who go to WDW in December aren't looking to swim, but we equate Florida with summer/sun type activities so even in late December we're trying to swim!! And you're from Canada, December in Florida might feel like July in Canada!! We are from Texas and are official Cold Babies.

I know the weather in central Florida is very moody and goes up and down constantly, but that was our experience.

Either way, you're going to have an amazing trip!!

spring break. longer park hours and the parks are staffed and rides are operated to handle the crowds. Love that the weather is really warm but not surface of the sun hot during our spring break trips.

I would do spring break. the flights have been very cheap for Dec,ever for us except for Dec 22 or 23.

We get two weeks of Spring break, usually starting the weekend before St Patrick's day. We'd have to put our daughter in daycamp one of those weeks anyway, which offsets the cost of the trip a little.

We're in Vancouver and flights tend to be expensive. And at Christmas since there are four of us the difference gets pretty big. We're in the 'warm' part of Canada relatively speaking. It rarely snows here and rains all the time.

Fortunately no decisions need to be made yet.

Since your spring break is in March, it's a no-brainer for me - go in March. The weather will be better and the crowds will be a bit lower.

We have been to WDW in late March (25-4/2) the weather was absolutely beautiful. Didn't break a sweat once that week and were able to enjoy the report pools. Believe it or not we didn't have rain once that week either. We are going this year in Dec because we have always wanted to see the resorts/ MK decorated for the holidays, so hoping for good weather:)
