Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

Wow, this has been a busy place! I tried to catch up reading all the posts. I feel a bit stressed since I haven't done TP or made a spreadsheet (although I have lots of notes on random sheets of paper :scared1:). I considered purchasing TP and trying it out but didn't and now I don't feel like I have the time to look at it. I'm coming in 11/25 for a room only and then my package is on 11/26. I checked the Disney website and it is showing me my FP day is 9/27 (60 days from 11/26). I may still get up to try it the day earlier but I'm guessing it won't work. I hope that we all can grab the FPs that we are hoping for!

How do you guys keep your toddlers entertained during ADRs? I am worried about our 17 month old. We don't go out to eat much normally because of the cost for 6 of us. I really want to enjoy the meals. I guess some of the meals are character ones so that will help. I also thought about setting up disney Jr episodes on my phone so he can watch. Playing with our phones is a big no no in our house but maybe we can make an exception this trip just for the baby?

Whooops haha I fat fingered the 6 apparently. Wishful thinking ;)

Thanks all for the warm welcome! I'm excited to have a group of people I can bounce ideas off of.

Anyone doing Jedi Training our week? We plan for Monday. I couldn't find a reservation for 6 at HV at 8am so I booked 3 sets of 2. I'm really hoping I can consolidate these into at least 2 ressies.

We are hitting EMH at DHS on the 27th in hopes of getting Jedi training done early :) I also have another morning at HS planned in case it gets rained out or something our first day. My oldest was so bummed when they closed that during our last trip to refurb so it's a top priority to get him into it.

Have you tried calling the dining reservation line to see if they can merge your separate reservations? Worth a call!

my youngest was 22 months - but we brought little containers of play doh, sticker sheets and small notepads, twistable crayons (awesome for travel, they dont break and twist down so they dont mark up other stuff in transit), and the ipad with some favorite movies loaded on it. I'm all for whatever makes things easier on vacation :)

I think the 27th EMH is a great idea! My oldest boys are so excited for JTA. I'm not a star wars fan at all but excited to see their excitement. I think we will need a backup plan too. The whole purpose of this trip is to do new things we could never fit in before.

I have not tried to call dining about this reservation but based on previous experience if it's not available as 1 booking there's nothing they can do. But we have been able to merge parties on arrival and sit together every time we have tried (4 times I think) so im hopeful it will work out.

Where is your favorite place to watch Celebrate the Magic? We are going to do this on Monday the 28th and I think my kids will love it. But I'm not a big fan of staking out a spot super early.

I may have teared up a little. Love that movie!

I just watched Beauty and the Beast last Sunday night. I had a busy weekend and didn't get much planning in, so at least I got in a Disney classic. The Bluray version looked so awesome on my 75" tv. It made me happy! :teeth:

I made some changes to my dining reservation once again. Would love to get some feedback from you all.

Day 1- Garden Grill Lunch, Narcoossee's Dinner and then watch Wish from there
Day 2 - Park QS lunch, Boat House dinner
Day 3 - Flame Tree lunch, Tiffins Dinner
Day 4 - Hotel QS lunch, Columbia Harbour QS dinner during MVMCP
Day 5 - BOG QS lunch, Jiko dinner
Day 6 - Park QS lunch, H&V Fantasmic Early Dinner, then Fantasmic at 7pm

So I have Garden Grill, Narcoossee's, Boat House, Tiffins, Jiko's and H&V Fant! dinner. We will have 18 table service credit total for DH, DS (10) and me. I was thinking of paying Jiko out of packet for the entire meal. Use only 4 TS for Nar., Boat House and Tiffins for 3 people.

What do you think of my meal plans?

It's all in perspective of your needs. We stay at BC so Epcot and HS are walking distance. MK is 30m+ bus ride. I figured that we might just avoid going back to MK at night. DD is not a stroller nap kinda kid so we always have to go back to hotel. That being said the only nights that we were missing out were AK day because they closed so early and our last day we did MK on a party night. It was nice to just relax though. We watched Illuminations from BC and swam in the pool. I think that I would much rather spend the hopper $$ on MVMCP for sure.
We did one really late night in MK last year when DD was 2 (almost 3). She had terrible bags under her eyes and told my husband she just wanted to go to bed. But 10 months later she is still alive and well. It was on day 3 of trip. She recovered after a good nights rest. Same plan for this year but party night instead. The next day is HS so not to rushed to get there super early. We are most looking forward to evening shows. Fingers crossed for fireworks.

We stay at BWV so pretty much in the same boat as you. Glad to hear your DD survived a late night, gives me hope! haha

anyone who will be there starting the 26th or later staying at POFQ? There are on on that threadj who got the notice that the Food Court may still be under construction....not sure it it's cause they are there before or after Thanksgiving, though. We arrive on the 27th and have NOT gotten the notice.

We are checking in to POFQ on Nov 24 and we haven't received a letter about the the Food Court being under construction.

As far as sharing, if I'm understanding you correctly, on the DP you are not allowed to split meals at TS restaurants. If you are paying out of pocket you can, and I've even experienced them splitting the portions in the kitchen between two plates for us. QS is no problem to split but not TS on the meal plan,

I have only heard of this for via Napoli. I thought it was generally fine in most Disney owned TS...

Most TS will allow you to share no problem even on the dining plan - via Napoli is one that never will, and of course the buffets/prix fixe meals. Oh and any restaurant that you can order an all you can eat after - like WCC.
