Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

I am doing some FPs earlier in the day, some later - depending on other plans and usual availability of extra FPs.

So our first MK day, I am doing earlier, hoping to grab more later. But our second MK day is interrupted by a trip to Ohana, so I have those spaced out more.

I too have a "it depends" plan for FP. We are doing our first morning at DHS and then MK that evening. I know MK will be packed (TP has it at a 9 for Monday the 28th), so I'm saving our FP for MK. Hoping to ride TSM at RD if we can get signed up for JTA before PPO breakfast.

Our next day is all MK so we will start our FP around 11am. With FP and rider switch we manage to get a few more so it should take us most of the day to use our FP, with other things like lunch ADR and FoF parade in between.

Our Epcot morning we will use our FP with the last for FEA hopefully around 1245. After using that I'm hoping to book another (maybe ROL) for our evening park.

Our last morning we will be at MK and then DHS I think. So I will just schedule our FP early for MK.

Anyone know if Jingle Cruise will be up and running?

How do you guys keep your toddlers entertained during ADRs? I am worried about our 17 month old. We don't go out to eat much normally because of the cost for 6 of us. I really want to enjoy the meals. I guess some of the meals are character ones so that will help. I also thought about setting up disney Jr episodes on my phone so he can watch. Playing with our phones is a big no no in our house but maybe we can make an exception this trip just for the baby?

We're hoping to do JTA on Monday! I don't have a PPO, but I hear that's super helpful. We're going to try to get there early so we can get a decent time. Hopefully they can consolidate those for you!

I reeeeeeealllllyyyy hope DHS is open until 8. That would make my 6 pm H&V dinner reservation just perfect. As of right now if it's a 7 pm close I have to move it.
8PM close would be a game changer for me too!! So fingers crossed. My whole schedule would fall together if I could do H&V and SWW on the same night :)

Whatever makes things easiest - you're on vacation, no need to stress! :) Letting the baby watch videos sounds like a great idea. Also, maybe a special toy that he's never seen before, brought out specifically and only for these meals?

We did that for our 2 year old grand baby. He was watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse in his stroller while waiting at a Meet and Great when Mickey Mouse grabbed his phone and ran around dancing. It was so cute.

Only let the baby have the phone if you're prepared to deal with the baby not understanding why he can't have it after the trip. It's easy to let bad habits get a start out of temporary desperation but you do need to think about how difficult it might be to change back after you're done.

anyone who will be there starting the 26th or later staying at POFQ? There are on on that threadj who got the notice that the Food Court may still be under construction....not sure it it's cause they are there before or after Thanksgiving, though. We arrive on the 27th and have NOT gotten the notice.

We arrive the 28th and I never got that notice. I assume they'll push to get it done by Thanksgiving.

Trying to do a touring plan (on Touring Plans. Hehe.) for MK and full-on panicking - how the heck do I factor in, say, a 15-minute block of time to meet Alice, when everything is timed basically to the minute? What if Gaston has a long line and it screws up my entire plan?

You can add in a 15-20 minute "break" for a character meet. It wouldn't account for walking time but at least it would give you a block of time. Though I haven't tried it myself, others have suggested that you can reoptimize your plan if you find you are ahead or behind schedule. If I stick to my plans this trip, I may try reoptimizing in the park. In previous years, I show up with the plans I agonized over only to throw caution to the wind after a few hours of touring!

Good idea about a special toy. We do this for church...we have special books he only sees during church and it really helps. Now if I can find something cheap that he won't just keep throwing on the floor! Feel free to give me some ideas.

This is absolutely true! Parenting can be a slippery slope sometimes. Thankd for the reminder.

I have also added character meets as a break to my TP. Also remember to update your walking speed. Our 2014 trip I had it at average and while DH and I walk Gast the kids dont, so we ended up behind. If you have the Lines app on your phone you can mark off things as done then hit the optimize button and it will move things around as needed. In 2015 I put our walking speed as the slowest possible because we had a nursing infant and I never knew when he would need to eat. That speed worked better for us. This year my plan is to put our speed between avg and the slowest. But also I'm adding to the notes attractions we can skip if we get behind. I always print each TP and put in a folder, then take that day's TP to the park folded in my little purse. Hope that helps!

I think we are going to try for fast passes starting around 10 or 11 in hopes of still being able to get decent ones throughout the day. Not planning FP for AK since we are hopping to EP the same day and rather use it for FEA. And if I can round up the extra magic bands, I can do SDFP :)
