Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

So I finally scored the one ADR that was completely eluding me: H&V dinner on a day I was already planning to be at DHS!!! 3:05 pm on 12/3 for 6 people, Baby!! The food should at least be fresh that way. Also, we would have plenty of time to add the SW dessert party if we should decide we want to do that. OR we'll also have plenty of time to grab prime viewing spots for the fireworks if we elect to forego the party. I can't believe how that ONE ADR has absolutely fixed all/most of my scheduling difficulties. Oh, that and deciding to consider a taxi to get to our Boma breakfast, thus allowing us to sleep in a bit more on the day we go there. This feels SOOO good, maybe I can even start getting ready for my daughter's birthday party coming up this weekend. :yay:

Yay! Gotta love that feeling! I felt pretty good when I lucked into a Le Cellier ADR last weekend out of the blue.

Woohoo! Great news and so glad things are falling into place :)

Day 5: It seems odd to me that day 5 is our first time at HS! I planned the entire day here to make up for that.

Your plans look grrrreat. My only thought was one that I've had issues with for my planning...what are you going to do at HS for 12 hours? I don't think I'd get bored riding RnRC or TSMM a few times, but eventually, there's just not enough in the park to do.

I have been 2nd guessing this as well. I'm considering splitting Day 5 between EP/HS. Then I'll still get the 2 evenings in HS for F! and SW fireworks. And I'll also gain more EP time.

Yay! I love the alerts. I just heard my text go off 3 times followed by incoming email ding which was my clue it must be from TP. I got our 1900 Park Fare dinner booked. DD3 will love it. And my 3 boys will too...I hear they are great with boys there. Looks like they opened up several spots that week for 1900 PF.[/QUOTE]

Really? I am trying to search but it is down. We have an 8 pm 1900 PF on arrival day and I am hoping to move it a little earlier. Awesome that it is cool for boys too since I have 3 and 1 girl!

That makes sense and is well thought out. We're doing one night in HS, so I guess we're missing one or the other (seen F!, so we'll be missing that)
You sure look like your making excellent use of your park hoppers!

This is what we are doing - 1 full Epcot day, one full HS day, and one split between them. That split day we will hit HS in am without FP, then head to Epcot with (hopefully) a FEA FP and have an early dinner, explore the WS. Oh, and then to MK for nighttime show. Lol.

Has anyone been to Restaurant Marrakesh? I just booked for late appetizers/dessert before Illuminations. We're fairly picky eaters but I'm trying to branch out a bit!

Nevermind, switching to Spice Road Table (even though I'm not as interested in their food) for the Illuminations view.

Edit2: Gaaaah who stole my ressie?! Stupid session timed out and now it's gone!

Ugghhhhhhh I hope it pops up again soon for you!

Well I'm not getting anywhere just looking at this myself right now, so I figured I'd share for opinions. All comments welcome! I still seem a long way away from being done. I'll post my chart first and then my thoughts below.

Arrival day: I was planning to stay at Universal longer originally, but we'll have already had 2 full days in Universal. So I think we'll just need enough time to go around and hit our favorites again (definitely the Harry Potter stuff). But I want to leave any early afternoon plans loose so we can play it by ear and stay a little longer at USO if we want.

Day 1: I hope they extend AK hours more. I put Epcot in there with a ? because I think we'll be too exhausted after AK. But you never know. We need to get to bed early this night. I'm not sure of my dining yet either. I need to plan another meal and maybe move the Yak & Yeti later. All depends on the dang ROL schedule!

Day 2: I'm pretty happy with this day. It's a long day for us, so we may want a longer break between parks, or we'll just push through it with the help of caffeine.

Day 3: Um I have no dining at all planned, but otherwise it looks good so far!

Day 4: Ahhh, sleep in day! MVMCP! Not sure what to do beforehand. We could either resort hop or hit up Disney Springs.

Day 5: It seems odd to me that day 5 is our first time at HS! I planned the entire day here to make up for that.

Day 6: AK/HS day to redo our favorites or catch what we've missed. Timing is very loose right now. AK is first due to AM EMH and HS last due to SW fireworks. later evening is open for some late-night entertainment. Maybe Jellyrolls on the BW?

Day 7: MK/EP day to redo our favorites or catch what we've missed. Timing is very loose right now. Since it's a party night at MK I put it first on the agenda, so we'll end our WDW time in Epcot.

So there isn't much to comment on dining-wise, but how is my planned park time looking? Is this a decent breakdown of days per park for 2 adults?

Looks great! I also am stealing your park hours at the top of each day. That is a great addition :)

We are doing (assuming Star Wars fireworks cooperate) one full day here too. DD will want to ride Star Tours at least three times. She wants to do JTA. She wants to see Indiana Jones again. Plus Toy Story, all the Launch Bay and other Star Wars stuff, ADR, some switching off for DH and I to do single rider for RnRC... I think we will more than fill the day. I guess we will see!

We only spent a half day at HS the past two trips, and we felt rushed. I think we can definitely fill a day!

We never saw Indiana Jones, Beauty and the Beast, VoLM, One Man's Dream, and Great Movie Ride last time we were there. I'm not sure I even want to bother with GMR but I know a couple people in my family definitely want to do it once since it's on the chopping block. Add those things along with revisiting Star Tours, Tower of Terror, RnRC, and TSMM, and I think we'll have a pretty full day. OH, and we can't forget Launch Bay and all the other new Star Wars things!

Steal away! I don't consider it stealing...we are sharing ideas. I'd share the Excel if I knew how for others to use as a template if they wanted.

I will play with my touring plans for HS to see how 2 half days work out before I officially change the plan. There are some things at HS I could skip. Off the top of my head some of the SW stuff like shows/videos I could skip. Indiana Jones and Frozen Sing Along are more on the maybe list.

Last year at HS we skipped BATB, Frozen sing along, all but 1 mickey greet, the little mermaid show, muppets, one man's dream, and Disney Jr and still filled a whole day.

Man how did we do that?! haha!
