I haven't even been to Disney for this year's vacation and DH is asking about when to go next year. You see every 12 wks he gets a week off and next year this falls in Sept. Not to keen to go then d/t kids getting back to school and with weather, so his next time will likely be end of Nov beginning of Dec. We went last year in mid Nov and loved it, i'd like to go after Thanksgiving to see holiday decor in more detail. ? Is disney super crazy for crowds at Thanksgiving? Thanks for any advice Kat princess:

We went down the second week in December (2004) and it was great. There were not many long lines at all. We walked right onto Mission Space, and about 1/2 hour wait for Test Track, so we went back to Mission Space rode it, and went back to Test Track and it was a 10 minute wait. Also stay away from the park that opens an hour early for Disney resort guests, I find it to be more crowded. Since the parks close early at Christmas time I guess people want to try and get that extra hour in, but there are more people in those parks, the other parks are emptier and you can do a few rides in the time it would take you to do one at the "Extra hour" park. ;)
I have gone Thanksgiving week ,the week after and the second week after.
Years ago Thanksgiving was not as popular as it is now. It is usually very crowded. The crowds thin out the week after, especially toward the end of the week, and the second week in December seems to be the best with crowds. Hope this helps!! :goodvibes

We were there this past thanksgiving week and it was pretty crowded - especially the Magic Kingdom. I'm sure that the summer is worse, but it was quite packed that week. It is worth it to see the decorations though. Don't miss the Osbourne Family Lights at MGM - incredible !@!@!

We usually go the first week in December right after the Thanksgiving crowd gets out. This year we are considering going the second week in Dec as it might be a lit less crowded. Good luck and maybe we will see you there!

We have gone the past three years the week after Thanksgiving. We check in the Sunday after Thanksgiving and stay a week, if not longer.

It is a great time to go. Not only is the entire World decorated for the holidays, but the crowds are low.

You will find that MK is not opened as late as it is normally is, but with the crowds down, you still have plenty of time to see everything as you do not spend a lot of time in lines.

The evenings of MVMCP, MK closes at 6PM as the party officially starts at 7PM.

Since MK closes early, the nghttime parade and Wishes is not offered every night.

If I remember correctly, last year it was still a little crowded Sunday, but after that it was smooth sailing.

We have gone to MVMCP the Tuesday of that week. Perfect weather for the party every year.

Any other questions, feel free to PM me.
