Tell me what I can expect the week AFTER Easter - crowd wise! We may have to be in Long Beach sometime the beginning of the week and if we're going to be that close - well, you know the rest. ;)

I'm always happy when our school break is the week after Easter rather than the week before. We have been to the parks for both and find the week after Easter a little less crowded. Still, it's spring break; there will be crowds. Our spring break is not associated with Easter this year though, and I have noticed that to be the case with many other schools as well. With Easter being so late, spring break seems a little more distributed this year. This has the potential to be one of the better after-Easter spring breaks I would think, and I'm kind of sad we won't be able to be there. Still expect crowds; Disney most likely will expect them as well and offer maximum hours and maximum entertainment. If you find yourself going for only one day, go Wednesday; if usually seems to be the best day crowd-wise.

Traditionally, the week after Easter is very busy, but many public schools are taking their spring breaks earlier this year due to the late date for Easter. Far less of the local public schools will be on vacation that last week of April because our state testing begins in early May, and they do not want the kids to be out for an entire week right before testing starts. Take advantage, have a plan, and enjoy the parks. It will probably still be busy, but bearable.

I agree with oc_tony and longtimedisneylurker. Traditionally, the week before AND after Easter are extremely busy due to Spring Break crowds. And SoCal APs are blocked out both weeks. But Easter this year is about as late in the calendar year, April 24, as it ever has been. Because of this, I think many (although not all) students--whether elementary, high school or college--will have finished their Spring Break. This year, one week after Easter and we're into the month of May! You may find lighter than normal crowds on this week. Good luck with your trip planning!

My DS's B-day is 4/20 - we spent his 8th B-day in the parks *Easter that year was 3/23 - looks like he'll share his 14th B-day with Easter Sunday in 2014 *his 3rd B-day was also Easter Sunday.

Thanks everyone for your replies. We have been to DLR during our kid's Spring Break and swore NEVER to do that again. I was hopeful that since Easter is so late this year that it would help the crowd levels.

It turns out our son is getting married right after Easter and may be having the ceremony in Long Beach (his fiance lives there). If that's the case, it seems a shame to be that close to DLR and NOT go. We'll see how things work out.
