I just got back from the 5th ave Disney Store in NYC and I must say this has been the best week by far. Cast members had this weeks pins behind the counters and a limit of 2 of each pin (Bravo Disney Store). Managers kept a close watch on the pin buying giving reminders of limits to the CM's manning the registers. All and all it was a good pin day.

That's great for you. I didn't have such luck. We had a family who bought 8 sets. Our mamager even said on 2 sets per person and that each 2 had to be paid for separately. Well Daddy just handed the cash to the kids as they got to the register. Maybe legal but certainly against the spirit of the rules.
I got I measly pin this week and 2 last week. It is not easy for me to get moving in the morning and I still got there before opening and got nothing for my effort. People were walking in front of my wheelchair to walk in the door and get their pins first.
I am angry and fustrated and totally displeased that these pins have no fair distribution method at least if you are a handicapped person. In order to get my place in line I would have to roll over people's feet with the power wheelchair and I don't think that would be appreciated.

Goodness Larry, we were probably there the same time! Next week, I must wear a green ribbon. :)

You are correct it was very orderly this week, I was towards to the front on the line, by the way were you the one right behind me? We both bought the Snow White DVD.

LisaPooh,
I have extras of this week's pins, if you need them. Email on the way.

Maybe DS should restrict 2 full sets per family! That will keep the vultures at bay and have more for everyone!!!

What would one family want with 8 sets of Week 3 pins! My only guess is to trade or worse hike up the price at the auctions.

I understand what you're saying about the two-per-family thing, Laurajean...BUT, there's a man who comes to my TDS and he has THREE kids, and he really wants one set for each. (MOST families in our area have more than two kids, and those who are collecting want one for each kid!) This man has gotten there at 9am each week, and I felt bad that he couldn't get what he needed today because he's so NICE! I went with hubby this morning and hub got the two sets we need (we have two kids and want 1 set for each, we're not buying them to trade), and then I got on line behind hub and got 1 extra set for our new friend (including the store's last #22, but minus #19, which DH got the last 2 of), so our family got a total of 3 sets...I don't know whether to feel good for helping a friend, or guilty for "cheating" the people behind me. I have an overall uneasy feeling about what I did. My store didn't sell out of all pins once the initial line was gone, but because our store was shorted 3 DIFFERENT PINS, UGH, many didn't get the whole set for today.

WHY SHOULD THIS BE SO HARD??? Disney did not make enough pins, or has distributed them very poorly. We should all be able to order complete sets.

What is the most fustrating is the woman was offering to sell pins outsidee before the store opens and was asking others to buy more sets for her. Please the manager told me later after she left that she had bought 20 sets the week prior between her and her family. This woman is a shark but there was nothing the Disney Store employees could do because the kids were handed money by the parents to pay separately. And they had 2 kids not so even if they wanted 1 for each person in the family they only needed 4 sets not 8.
It's really too bad that honest families get the shaft because sharks like this person are around.

Lisa Pooh,
If it makes you feel any better, we are going to hand out numbers like we did for beanies so there is no running to the register. I would like to hand one set to each guest as they come thru the door and let them buy extras (the second set) at the register if there are any to make sure eveyone in line gets at least one set.

The store I go to has always had them behind the counter and it has been very nice! (Applause, applause)
The other store didn't seem to follow that rule, even yesterday. And I traded a Pinocchio poster with another person so he would have the whole set. He said the woman in front of him bought a bunch of those. So they must not have followed the 2 per person limit either. Someone else was hunting for the Pinocchio too. Felt bad for them. :(
