We are at WDW the whole week prior to this however my sister (30) I'd throwing a fit because she wants to go here for Harry Potter things. We have a variety of ages of kids comin with from little to teens. Is it worth going to the park for a day or wI'll we just be waiting in line all day. Any advice go make this day as smooth as possible would be so appreciated. (Some of the little kids may not come this day and stay with Grandma )

Definetly worth it for any die hard HP fan. Teens will also love more intense rides then Disney. Great water rides if not too cold. And it should be a light crowd day. Lines not too long as long as you tour wisely. Otherwise, you have two options:

If possible, stay on sight that last night to gain express pass(for most rides except FJ and Gringotts) and early entry (Harry Potter rides) for up to five guests in one room...only need to purchase tickets

Or

Purchase express pass for all with tickets.

Have fun!

yes it is worth it .Keep in mind in order to see BOTH Harry Potter areas and ride the Hogwarts express , you will need a 1 day, 2 park ticket ( park hopper) without it there is no way see both Potter areas ( there is one in each Park and the Hogwarts express goes between them). Also keep in mind that one day tickets to any theme park in Orlando aren't cheap and are rarely discounted.

To me it's probably not worth it since like you said we need a two park pass. We may send her and a couple of the older ones and I'll just take the little ones back to magic kingdom that day ! I would love to go as well bUT probably wouldn't be able to enjoy with the little ones as much as I would like to

I'd totally go. I think Universal is better for teens, and great for Harry Potter fans! We often do just a single day at amusement parks and it's fine. This year was our first time spending 3 days at a park and while it was nice, I wouldn't say skip a great park because you only have 1 day. You'll make it work.
But, maybe consider pulling a day off your WDW part and give more time to Universal.

Universal is fun and the Harry Potter sections are AMAZING! Id get a one day park to park ticket. Plan to arrive early and download a wait times app on your phone.
