Okay, I'm hoping that someone can answer this riddle for me. I called up my planner to ask about pictures at the Polynesian prior to our ceremony (which is at the Wedding Pavilion). Basically, I had the following schedule in my mind for photography:

MK Session: 6:30 - 7:30am
Polynesian: 8am - 8:30am
Grand Floridian: 8:45 - 9:30am
Ceremony @ 10am @ WP

I was talking it over with my planner's assistant and she said that we can do anything we want, but we have to be at the Grand Floridian for group pictures at 8:45am. At the time I accepted it, but now I'm going "why?". We have an outside photographer, so who cares where we are doing whatever shots we want as long as we get to the Wedding Pavilion in time? Why is there a specific "pre-ceremony" picture time as designated by DFTW when I'm not using Disney Photography? I'm confused...

No, that is just the standard timeline they think will best fit the schedule and ensure everyone is in the right place at the right time. You can work with your planner to set a schedule that works for you.
