Wedding vows and intimate ceremonies

Hi - I've just been thinking about wedding vows today - and whether we can choose our own or they just come "as standard"!

Anyone know?

Also I just saw a programme about a wedding today where they had some kind of knot ceremony - which I really liked - can we have one of those?

I think you can customize depending on your officiant...have you selected one yet?

Your officiant will send you about 6 or 7 different ceremony scripts ( I call them scripts for lack of a better term). You can take parts from each script, add things, change things, or make your own.

That sounds good - as we're an intimate I think Disney picks the officiant - any idea how far in advance they sends out the scripts?

Disney does not pick out your officient for an intimate. They will send you a list of people they have used and recommend, but you don't have to use them. You have to contact and book your officient yourself and set up everything, as far as the ceremony, with them. We did make a pre-wedding trip and met with our's (Rev. Tim, from the FTW list) and he incorporated things we wanted into what he planned.

Blimey - I hadn't realised that! I thought I read somewhere they did... We have to send our planning pack back to Disney 10 weeks before the wedding, so I assume that's when they'll send us the list...

I'm not sure if things have changed in the last 12 months, but my list was included in my planning packet. You might want to contact your EM and ask for one, as the closer you get to your wedding, the officients you like have more of a chance of being booked already for the time of your wedding. I know Rev. Jack was booked for our ceremony time by the time I contacted him (recommended by some Dis'ers), but Rev. Tim turned out to be just perfect for us (also recommended on the Dis).
