Wedding Vow Renewals

That is so romantic Karen

Karen ~ what a lovely thing for your DH to do:love:

Oh how lovely (and romatic  )

How romantic Karen:love: I hope you have a fantastic trip:thumbsup2

To the OP you should do whatever feels rights, everyone is different:)

just wanted to say what a lovely story Joh, and the pics are fab, I can totally see why you did the renewal thing, it makes complete sense in your situation. To the Op i would say that any time would be fine if its something both of you want to do, why not celebrate your love like that?
You're very lucky to find someone to share your life with, if it makes you both even happier I'd definately do it.

Denise and I have only been married 3 and a half years (and 6 days!!!) but we have talked about having our wedding vows renewed when we have children because we'd love for them to be part of it which they couldn't be at the actual wedding with them not being born.

I personally love the idea of vow renewels - in a world full of hate and oppression I'm a big fan open declerations of love in all forms.

My husband and I had only been married 8 years when we renewed ours. When we had our "proper" wedding we already had our son but not our daughter. When our daughter was about 6 she seen our wedding photos and when she wasn't on any of them she asked why. I told her she hadn't been born so she said it wasn't fair she was never around when anything exciting happened. At about the same time a few of her friends parents split up and she got herself quite worried that we were going to do the same. We were going away for Christmas to a cottage in the Yorkshire Dales and we arranged with the Vicar of a tiny local church in the area to renew our vows. We kept it a secret from the kids but bought them special outfits, a present each (because they were going to be our special little best man and bridesmaid) and also got a cake with this written on. There was only my husband and I and the two kids in this beautiful church on Christmas Eve, renewing our vows in front of our children. It was really lovely and we all enjoyed it very much although my husbands friends even now still say they can't believe he got married a second time to the same person!

I think its lovely to renew your wedding vows no matter how long or short a time you have been married.

Hells bells women!

Not content with financially ruining us once, you want to do it all again!

Have you no shame? :rotfl2:

Personally I feel it dilutes the meaning of the original vows if you make them again - almost as if the original ones were only for a limited time.
Well for me I would agree , but everyone has there own ideas ,

if this is that what you want to do ,go for it :thumbsup2 do not let other peoples opintions put you off
but rember we will all want to hear about all the plans and see all the photos and the reports

BTW after reading Laura wedding report too 'I wanted to do it all again too

I would love to have our wedding vows renewed. When we got married 16 years ago we hardly knew each other. Mark asked me to marry him after we had been going out together six weeks and we were married a few months later.

Now that we have got to know each other better I think it would mean even more than when we got married originally.

I think it is an absolutely great idea. The more times the better!!! but any excuse for a party is my motto.

Susan
