Wedding Trip report

Chase Foster Groom
Amy Baldwin Bride

Wedding: February 1
Stay: January 29-February 12

We chose to have a Disney wedding because first off we love Disney and coming to Orlando. Second the price was right as we firstly planned a wedding at home with 200 plus guests and man was that expensive. The intimate wedding package struck our vision and fell in love with the idea. I showed amy all the facts and she agreed that this is what we shall do. We picked February 1 as our date for a few reasons: The date was great for crowds, my physical therapy program hadn’t started yet and the weather is amazing. So now we had our main location and date, we needed a sublocation on Disney property. We went through picture after picture and detail after detail until we came up with Seabreeze Point at Disney’s Boardwalk. We knew we didn’t want to get married indoors and the view at SBP was so beautiful. So main details Feb.1, Seabreeze Point at 2:30PM. I picked Rev. Tim Herring to perform the wedding and kudos to him. Our planner was julian Acosta but then got switched to Amy Riendeau who by the way is amazing!! Over the months coming up to the wedding I really didn’t have much to do. They gave us a form with little details; flowers, music cake…etc that we filled out in about 20 min. For music we decided to have the violin player play but for the first dance, mother son and father daughter dance we brought my ipod with personal songs we wanted. It turned out nice but the sound system was horrible. I do know that this is new so I didn’t complain. We are not picky people at all. Resort wise one thing that was cools is that we had ressies at POR but my little brother actually found a florida residents and annual passholder code that brought down the rate to like $99/night. I called and they didn’t have any more rooms for POR but then I noticed that you could get Saratoga Springs for like $115/night and inquired about this; yep available and booked them instantly. It was a nice surprise to tell the girl that I had upgraded to a really nice resort. Also in the time leading up to day I made reservations for amy’s family and made sure the rest of the guests had accommodations. Here’s a list of the guests that came:

Karen Baldwin: Amy’s Mom
Byron Baldwin: Amy’s Dad
Matthew Baldwin: Amy’s Brother
Connie Foster: My mom
Andy Foster: My Brother
George Baldwin: Amy’s uncle
Memommie: Amy’s Grandmother
Jamie Reed: Andy’s girlfriend
Mike Farrington: Friend
Karen Farrington: Friend
Vic Jones: Connie’s boyfriend

Now going to Orlando we knew we had a challenge with amy’s dad. He recently (a few months) had a brain aneurysm and was starting to make his recovery. He has been improving immensely but still couldn’t walk or talk as well. Amy’s family flew to Orlando and stayed at POR. It was actually really nice because EVERYONE except for the farringtons stayed at POR. So lets just say now were almost at the DAY and I have everything paid for and planned to the best of my knowledge. I’ve kept in contact with planner amy very well and were good to go. Now that you have a background lets start at January 30

So like in my TR this wasn’t really a big deal. I got my tux from Carolyn allens tuxedos and got fitted today. I met keith there at 2PM and it took a total of 10min to try it on. Man this tux felt good. Amy already had her dress fitted back at home so she was good to go. This morning there was a nice surprise at the door to…Mickey had left two balloons and a card wishing us a happy honeymoon. It was a nice thing to open the door with..more magic. When we arrived to Orlando on the 29th I had to remember to call planner amy to let her know we were here and Carolyn allens to schedule the fitting. I honestly almost forgot because the feeling of being in Orlando.

The day before the wedding! This is the day everyone started to show up excluding amy’s family as they arrived on the 30th. My mom reserved a rehearsal dinner at Bucca Di Beppo an awesome Italian restaurant in the Florida Mall. I loved it as it was served family style with this huge wheel in the middle to spin everything. Very creative! After dinner girls went to have nails done and guys went back to POR to drink.

The big day! Ok I always said I wasn’t going to be nervous but I’ll be honest to say the butterflies were a fluttering. For the sake of last night I stayed with my brother at POR and amy stayed at SSR with Jamie. I woke up and we watched some tv. Andy took me to chik fil a to get some breakfast. He really kept me cool and calm. Like I said before we just chilled and played some video games in the POR arcade. That arcade is pretty amazing with lots of cool games. We played some firefighter game where we had to put out some fires. We hung out until the time to get dressed and limo came at 1:30PM. In the limo was me, andy and the farringtons mike and Karen. We arrived at the boardwalk within mintues. I felt great as I got out because man did I get a lot of looks. I walked in and met our planner amy along with two of her assistants. Amy was so cool with EVERYTHING. Remember I wrote about amy’s dad…I called planner amy up earlier that day to see about transportation for her dad which he uses a wheel chair. She arranged a mears van to personally pick up the entire family and wheel up mr. Baldwin. Small things like this is what made her such a great planner. She met every request I had big or small. She was just as sweet in person as on the phone. I also met Paul Looper who was our photographer and wow he was a good one. By the way if anyone wants to look at our pics I don’t mind:

Paul was amazing and a cool guy also. I met the violinist Rob Kerr and this guy was crazy good. One thing he amazed me by is in the boardwalk lobby he was like “during your dances with the ipod do you want me to play along”, I was like sure do you want to know the songs and he was like “nah”. When we dance he caught on to every note and it sounded so nice. Last but not least I met Rev Tim and we sat down to talk about some stuff as far as the ceremony goes. Very nice man but quiet I have to say. Few minutes later the baldwins, amys family, showed up in style. Gave hugs all around. Paul and I had to do some pictures so we did that as you will see on the site. Amy then informed me I had to go as amy was about to arrive. I headed down to seabreeze point with rev tim and my followers…brother, farringtons. With amy that morning was Jamie and connie. They rode in the limo with her. So unitl she showed I just kicked it at the SBP looking at the setup. It was truly beautiful with the chairs and table setup. Mike got to fiddle around with the sound system as I put him in charge of the ipod. Weather wise the day was nice. There was a chance of showers but the wind made the day look so cool. There was cloud coverage but really not enough to make a difference. So everyone but the bride, her dad and mom, came down to SBP. I got hugs from everyone else that I didn’t get to see earlier…my momma. Nerves were really setting in now but they were good nerves. Rev Tim made me stand by him and turn around when he got word of a bride coming down. Next thing I know she’s coming down the aisle as beautiful as ever with her dad at her side being pushed by her mom. The ceremony went off like a well oiled machine until I forgot some of the vows. Rev Tim said them and I was suppose to repeat them but I was so nervous I did forget one time. After the ceremony which was a solid 30 min we had our cake which was awesome and mikey made a really nice toast to us. Then came the dances: First dance (As Lovers Go – Dashboard Confessional) Mother Son dance (There You’ll Be – Faith Hill) and Father Daughter dance (I Think About You – Collin Raye). The dances went great a very emotional although I wish amy and I would have taken dance lessons but oh well it was still an awesome dance. Keep in mind when you go through this everything is moving so fast. I mean one minute I’m saying my vows then were eating cake and then dancing. Paul Looper then took us on a trip and took so many photos. The pictures in my opinion turned out awesome. Unlike many others we opted out of getting a outside photographer. In detail that’s about it for the wedding. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
