Wedding shower gift? Is this ok?

My dd is getting married in Dec. Because they're moving the end of July from Bloomington, IN to Atlanta, her future mil's friends are having an early shower. Lauren does some scrapbooking and has been talking about making a wedding book but she also suggested it would be nice if I'd make some pages. So I thought for a shower gift, I could buy lots of wedding oriented stuff - paper, album, embellishments - and some tools she doesn't have, plus I'd make some pages for her using the shower invitation, maybe her engagement pics, and some pics of her & her fiancee.

Do you think this is an good gift from a mom to her dd for a wedding shower? Is there anything else you'd get to go along with the "stuff". I did buy lots of cool wedding stickers and titles at the LSS.

I would love to get that as a shower gift. I've given a similiar thing as a christmas gift to my sister and law and it got her started on her first scrapbook.

we don't have showers over here for anything but it sounds lovely. I'd love a surprise like that! Everyone is frightened to get me scrap stuff "because we don't know what you have" - hey, if I don't know I suppose its OK that they don't - and don't get vouchers as most of my stuff is bought online as the shops are not good. Still, I never mind buying for myself

I actually got that gift at my shower from a coworker. She is a CM consultant and I got the Wedding album and all kinds of paper and embellishments. She also gave me the baby book and goodies at my baby shower. I loved it. Even better that you are going to throw in some pages.

I think thats a great gift. An extra idea I've done at a wedding shower and a baby shower is to have a couple pages made up that people can write litte notes to the couple on. Its great to place with the pictures in the scrapbook.

That's a great idea! Maybe I could use tags for people to write notes on. I have to think on this one. I'm also going to make photo mats (some).

Its a wonderful idea.....I've made two wedding albums for my cousins in the last year. I found out their colors/themes and used a very simple layout with punched flowers and ribbon and they loved them.

That would be a wonderful gift.

I know I've mentioned it before, but my sister and I made a scrapbook for our brother's wife of him and a little of her (we didn't have many photos of her and it was a surprise) and gave it to her at the first bridal shower. At the second shower which was just our family we had everyone make a page all about their family. It was a lot of fun and I think she really liked it.

I love the idea. I also like the idea of having the friends write something on a page. One thing that they could write is their favorite memory of your daughter.
