Wedding RSVP Question

I have probably been doing this wrong but have never known what it is suppose to be.

When you have an RSVP card and it has printed

"The favor of a response is requested before the twenty-ninth of October

M___________________________."

What exactly goes on the M_______________? Do you start with r. Do you repeat the M as in Mr.? Where exactly do you start?

Does anyone know??

Laura

The M is there to complete Mr , Ms, Miss or Mrs. That way if a woman is attending alone she won't have to mark out the MR.

Thanks. That is what I have been doing. It just seemed strange to me to write it that way, especially when I wasn't sure that was exactly right. You would think I would know these simple things by now, I am 39!

At least you fill them out and return them! When both of my sisters got married, we had to call people to find out if they were coming to the wedding.

We're printing up our own invitations, and because space is at a premium for us there's no way we're going to be doing the blank line and letting people fill in anything. Instead we'll be having the response cards with the invitees names printed on them with check boxes (not lines) for will/will not attend. I don't want Cousin Larry deciding he's going to bring 4 of his closest friends with him.

He probably will anyway!!!

At my sister's wedding, our stepmom's best friend (who was invited with her husband) invited her son, his girlfriend and their child!!! They all came, even though they weren't invited!

It was $100/person, that's an expensive wedding in Indiana!!

Well since there won't be room for Cousin Larry's best buddies to sit, especially at the reception, I'm not too awfully worried. Besides I can be one of those mean and nasty witches (with a capital B) and I'm very likely to just tell them "Gosh, nice of you to come, but we only have seats for those people we actually invited. Cousin Larry will see you later."

We're getting married in Las Vegas for heaven's sake, the interlopers can find numerous other ways to entertain themselves! And I'm sure they'll be a lot more entertained than the folks at the reception (although I understand there will likely be karaoke at the reception, that's got to be good for SOME entertainment value).

I'm just too much of a detail/control person. If you haven't RSVP'd, you get a phone call (or two, or three, until I get an answer). If you aren't on the guest list and you show up anyway, nice to see you but off you go!

My brother got married a week after he finished medical school. He left the M off the line because so many attending would be DR.

Is that my reply card? :scratchin That is what mine says and when they are due back for a reception we are having mid - November. So far I am figuring out that most people don't send them back!!! Frustrating! So my advice is, write whatever you want in that space (as long as it still contains your name), as long as you send it back. ::yes::
