We have friend that want to renew their wedding vows after 20 years of marriage, and we would like to do this at WDW some where. WDW is a very important place for them, and would like to give this to them for their anniversary...next year.

If you could let me know places where you have, or people you know have renewed their vows on WDW property, that would be great. Looking for some place special that people have enjoyed. Could be anywhere on WDW property...looking for all suggestions.

Thanks;

Eric

Do you mean a ceremony with a small group of friends gathered as a "congregation"?

1) Authorized wedding vow renewals start at $4,000.
2) Non-Disney vow renewals are not permitted.
3) They can be held in most locations.
4) See the WDW wedding site.

$4,000??? Wow! I wonder what they give you for that - I wanted to do this next year but at that price, forget it! DH can make do with a simple I love you in front of the castle!

We agree with you. After we started planning our wedding we looked at Disney World. After trying to get everyone down there, extra cost of dragging so much stuff with us, the time away from the parks...and everything being 3x the cost onsite, we said forget it!

Better to have your honeymoon and register with Disney to pay for your massages at GF! :thumbsup2

I was going to surprise my dh but $4000 no way !!!! Happy Anversary!!!! will have to do.:rotfl2:

LOL! I agree! We looked into doing a vow renewal for our 20th Anniversary until we saw that price tag. We decided to spend the money on a DVC add-on instead! :cloud9:

May need to rethink this, unless there is a bunch of add ons that they will be getting. Any idea of what people get for the $4000?

Not a lot of "add-ons" at the basic level.

CLICK HERE (DisneyWeddings) and then click on the choices on each new "page" that appears.

We were also looking into renewing our vows with the kids there and then we got the price. Absolutely nuts!!!!

We will celebrate 45 yrs in ......2009 at WDW with 12 family members.....i will rethink doing vows and as long as we have DVC i can pay for everyones trip with that money......guess we'll do dinner.......

We did an Intimate Wedding at the Wedding Pavilion last year for right around $6,000, but that included everything, such as the chapel, the minister, limo, photography, videography, cake, champagne, even our dinner afterwards. I am not sure of the current pricing, but with the intimate packages almost everything is included, so even with the add-ons that we had it was still $6,000 total. It was amazing actually. They did everything for us, nothing was left to chance and everyone there is so professional and helpful. I thought it was pretty reasonable for the quality of everything we got, because we also had a bigger reception at home and it cost far more than our Disney Wedding/reception, and we had to do so much work for it and it still wasn't as nice. Check out the wedding boards and their wedding website for all the details. I guess I can't really describe what a wonderful and unique experience it was to get married at Disney and I think a vow renewal there would be just as special. If it fits into your budget, you do get a really great value for everything and it is amazing, so I would definately do it all over again. I have been to a few weddings since ours, and they just don't compare and these were much more expensive weddings. I mean 10x more expensive. ( I know am I biased, but..) I don't know much about the cost of vow renewals, but weddings generally cost quite a bit more than $4,000. If you can get away with that, I say go for it. That's a steal.
And just a hint to all you "romantic" guys out there, girls don't want facts and figures when it comes to romance and love, they want the fairytale, and Disney is the perfect place for that.:flower3:

I can just imagine how great your wedding was and what you spent is totally resonable to get married.

Most people who want to renew their vows are looking to spend much less that $4,000, especially because they are already spending around $2000 for their vacation.

Non authorized ceremonies are not allowed. Official ceremonies. But you can have a private moment with your family and friends anywhere on property. That's what we did. Our entire wedding ceremony lasted less than ten minutes and I had our original vows. We picked a place in Disney World that was special to my husband and me and had our families meet us there at the exact day and time of our 20th anniversary. My brother-in-law read the vows, my sister was my matron of honor again and our son was the best man. No ruffles or frills but then again, the first one was extremely simple too. We were out of the way and no one even knew we did what we did (except us). Then we had a nice dinner with everyone.

That ceremony was actually better than the first one because it was so untraditional and very private.

My fiancee are getting married at the GF's WP in December. Someone on the boards had previously posted that The Swan and Dolphin offer a less costly ceremony option. Check out their web page but I am unsure if you are required to contract for other services beyond the ceremony.

I checked and this is what they have posted for the ceremony cost.

Ceremony Services
As part of your total Wedding Experience, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin offers a beautiful outdoor
area on property to hold your ceremony as well as provide a Professional Bridal Consultant to assist you on
your wedding day. When you reserve this area it will include: the ceremony location, a back-up room inside
(in case of inclement weather) and setup of white outdoor chairs and staging. The Bridal Consultant services
will include: planning the flow of your wedding ceremony, positioning your bridal party, organizing ushers,
selecting ceremony music, running your rehearsal and assisting your wedding party through your ceremony.
$1,500

The official options are very expensive, and offer limited locations. As a PP said, they start at about 4k, and this is for out of park options. (I remember 4 or 5 places to choose from) Doing anything in the park costs more, and needs to be done out of park hours. If you are looking cheap, there is no real authorized way to do it. I have seen posts of people who paid for a priest to meet then at a certain place in the park, all their friends "materialized" at the same time, they had a 5 min ceremony, and then dispersed. However, doing so could get you removed from property. Doing such a thing off park, say at a hotel, could go unnoticed possibly.

But as PP said, pick a favorite spot, and have a private moment. Will mean just as much to the two of you as any official ceremony that Disney could put together.
