Hi everyone

We're hoping to get married at Sea Breeze Point in May 2006, however, we are trying to decide what time ceremony would be best and then what to do afterwards. We'll be having an intimate with around 5-6 guests.

What did you do or what would you suggest? :flower:

Many thanks

Naomi

Just FYI, when you make your reservations, they will give you available times so don't get your heart too set on a specific time. I think they only do them between like 9am and 3 pm. But I could be wrong about that.

I am doing an Intimate at Sunset Point. I originally wanted to do it about 6 pm on the night we arrive in WDW. I was told they didn't like to do weddings the day of arrival. I could understand if there was a big dress involved and all that, but my ceremony is very informal and just me and DH2B. Anyway, they told me to do it the day after I arrive and they gave me three times available 9am, 1pm, or 3pm (I wanted to do it about 6pm)...so...we took the 9am slot!

You may still get several options. Personally I would try for as early as possible. In May it can get quite warm and the earlier you have the ceremony, the less heat you will have to deal with (especially if you have a big gown and all that). I also like that you get all the "formalities" done early and still have the rest of the day to celebrate!

I'm sure you will get lots of suggestions, but you might want to get in touch with the folks at FTW and see what times are available.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. You must be SO excited!

DH and I were married at Sea Breeze Point six years ago. Our wedding was at 6pm in mid-April. The weather was PERFECT--about 72 degrees, no clouds in the sky and a gentle breeze. Of course, May might be a bit hotter.

We, too, had an intimate wedding with 6 people (myself, DH and our parents). We were married on a Monday (the day after we arrived). In the morning we went over to Kissimee to get our marriage license (take the toll roads), then we went over to GF at 11:00am and had massages (they were included in the wedding package at the time). Next we met my parents for lunch and then went back to the hotel to get ready. I had an in-room appointment to have my hair done at 4:00pm and then got dressed and headed on over to BWI lobby to meet with the wedding planner and minister (I was staying at GF with my parents the first night while DH stayed at the BWI). The wedding planner worked everything out so that my DH was already down at Sea Breeze Point before I arrived at the hotel so that he didn't see me until the wedding.

Once the ceremony was over we had the reception right there at the gazeebo and took numerous pictures with the photographer and videographer that we hired. After all of that was over, the limo driver drove our parents over to their resorts to change and drove them back to BWI so that we could meet there at the boat dock and we all took the Illuminations Cruise. Since the Illuminations Cruise folks knew we were just married, they had balloons and a rose on the boat for us. It was so nice of them. The cruise was such a great way to top off the PERFECT day that we had just had.

When the cruise was over, our parents headed back to their resorts and we went to the Yachtman's Steakhouse for dinner at about 9:30pm. At the time, the dinner was also part of the package but we should have saved the dinner for a different night. We were really too tired to enjoy the dinner. After dinner we walked along the boardwalk and back to BWI.

I LOVED our wedding location. We did have some birds chirping pretty loudly in the trees during the ceremony and the boat horns could be heard because they have to honk the horns when they cross under the nearby bridge, but it didn't bother us in the least. It just added to the character of getting married right there.

We also had ALOT of people stop along the boardwalk and watch the ceremony. We had quite a few folks clapping for us when the ceremony was over. I thought that part was really neat.

You'll love your wedding. Good luck and enjoy the day...

Thank you for the replies so far.

We have now booked our wedding for 16 May 2006 at 1pm :cool1: and I am so excited :flower:

Now that we have a time, does anyone have any other suggestions? We are definitely going to try for an Illuminations Cruise as that sounds like a perfect way to end what will, hopefully, be a perfect day.

1 PM sounds like a good time of day for your wedding. being that you're only going to have 5 to 6 people there, you can all go out to early dinner at a nice restaurant, like california grill for example, and do your cake cutting ceremony there. umm... if i can think of anything else, i'll let you know.

You are going to love having your ceremony at Sea Breeze Point. Our wedding in March of 04 was at 3:00 PM and the weather was perfect. Besides the wonderful location my favorite part was walking down the Boardwalk in my gown and hearing all the well wishes. We had a dinner for 11 at Yachtsman Steakhouse and it was fantastic.

congrats on booking your big day! planning has been so much fun. since you're having an 1pm intimate wedding they'll do your ceremony, photos, champagne toast & cake cutting that will probably last about 2 hours give or take from what other intimate brides have said here on the board. i would suggest then a late lunch (in the bwi area garden grove at the swan, yacht club galley) or an early dinner (in the bwi area flying fish cafe at the bwi, palio or shulas at the swan, cape may cafe clambake at the yc, etc) for the time between your wedding & the illuminations cruise you hope to get (me & my fiance loved the illuminations cruise, it was so magical.) or if your guests have park tickets maybe changing into casual attire & heading to your favorite park & ride then changing back into the wedding attire & doing the specialty cruise later that evening. no matter what you decide best of luck & enjoy.

We're getting married at 12 midday at the Wedding Pavilion...as it's going to be in December I dont think the weather will be too much of a problem then. We're having a very intimate wedding...just myself and my DH2B. Afterwards we're going to have afternoon tea at GF (wont be eating much tho!) and then going on to have dinner at around 6pm. We're hoping to have a speciality cruise later in the evening (fingers crossed).
We know that our timings will be pretty close but as theres only the two of us to organise, it shouldnt be too much of a problem. :flower:
