Wedding Night room- Questions

Okay, so i read that can have the choice of any hotel room on the night of the wedding free, is that correct? (with the minimum room nights)

And if it is correct, and we was staying in another hotel - for example the All Stars hotel - could we have the one wedding night in the Grand Floridan in one of thier special wedding night / honeymoon rooms? (or any Disney hotel that has special wedding night/ honeymoon rooms)

Also, do Disney decorate the wedding night room for you? i.e rose petals & champagne, and do you have to pay for this service?

You can easily switch over from one hotel to the other. We stayed at the GF before the wedding and took our free night at the poly.
They didn't decorate the room for us but my DH had contacted the disney florists and paid for rose petals. Although the CM's at the poly did send up sparkling cider and chocolate covered strawberries.

so you got the florist to deliver rose petals - did you decorate the room or did you get the hotel/ someone from the wedding party to decorate it?

the disney florists got to the room long before we did and set up a trail of rose petals to the bed where they made a heart out of petals. I think it was like $60 if I can remember correctly....
Other than that we didn't have any decorations.

We didn't get free decorations or Champagne or strawberries or anything - I think we got a few mints on the pillow though! So if that's important to you, you'll need to contact the Walt Disney World Florist or Private Dining at the resort to buy what you want.

Also, you don't have to take the free night on your wedding night - you can take it any time during your stay. We used ours on the last night of the honeymoon. It was much easier than changing hotels mid-honeymoon and was a great cap to our trip.

I agree with not taking the room on your wedding night. We stayed together the night before the wedding (at a studio at the Boardwalk Villas). We also stayed there the night of our wedding. Our ceremony was in Epcot and the reception was at ADH so it was great because we were so close to everything. We also had an IllumiNaitons dessert party that night so we did not get back to our room until after 11:00pm (with a few hour break inbetween the reception and dessert party). The next night we attended MVMCP with 10 of our friends so we did not use it that night either. Our free night was at the GF and I wanted that to be a day and night for just us. We wanted to use the resort and pool during the day and it was to have some "just us" time after the crazyness of the wedding.

We used it the night of our wedding because the wedding was over by 4 so we figured we'd have the most time that night to enjoy the hotel (cuz the rest of the trip we played in the parks all day/night) We were planning to check out of the free room(concierge at the Poly with a great view of the castle) and into a less expensive room but when we went to check out they told us we'd been upgraded and could stay where we were!!

we didnt get free decorations either, we also didnt use our comp night for the night of the wedding. we used it a few days later.

As we had booked and paid for our hotel here in the uk we just took a overnight bag to the poly and left everything else at csr.

We got a mk view room at the poly concierge level and it was fantastic.
