HI,

We were looking at having a wedding in Disney, then having a return party when we come back for everyone, but what I was wondering is has anyone does this? Would I wear my wedding dress? I would have a buffet for everyone.

Any info would be great!

Thanks :yay:

We are planning the same thing. We are having a Disney Escape wedding with about 20 guests. But my DF's extended family is huge so we are having an at home reception at his parents house in his home town maybe a month or two after the wedding. I will probably wear my dress again so everyone can see it who hasn't! But you don't have to, do whatever you feel more comfortable with! I think it's common for brides to wear their attire again though. We are making it really informal - southern backyard BBQ style. I think we're going to order a cake and have a second cake cutting for everyone to see :)

Good luck, hope this helps!

My sis's doing this too- she is doing a march escape wedding with 20 guests, then coming home and doing a reception in may here, she will be wearing her dress, and so will us bridesmaids... I don't see any thing wrong with that, go for it! :)

My son and his fiance are doing this. They will be married on the Disney Cruise ship Wonder on Labor Day and the at home reception will be October 23. They want a backyard barbeque, but will also have a cake cutting and first dance at that time. For the first part of the evening, the dinner and cake and dance, they will wear their wedding attire, then change after that so they can enjoy the rest of the evening.

I actually just finished the report from my at-home reception today. We had a small wedding at Disney and had our reception 3 months later once we had our video and pictures back. We had "red carpet" theme and premiered our wedding video at our reception. I wasn't originally going to wear my dress, but several of my cousins asked me to wear it again so I did for part of the reception. We even redid the dances and cutting the cake. Everyone had a blast! Here is a link to the last page where I covered the reception.

Were doing the same - an escape wedding for immediate family, and a party for when we get back - were having a cake, first dances etc too and I'm going to wear my dress. Were planning this for two months after we get back.

We also did this and all the wedding party wore their outfits again - it was great!

As we only had the violinist at our Disney ceremony, this is where we did our "official" first dance too, and had the speeches.

We are planning the same sort of thing as not everyone can come out from the UK. So small group for the Disney wedding and then a big party when we get back and the bridesmaids and I are wearing our dresses again!

We're also doing this, having our actual wedding in WDW, but then having a big reception / party back in UK on our return. A lot of our friends and family can't / won't come to WDW, so this way we get to celebrate with everyone all over again!

I am not surewhether I will wear my dress again though - we shall just have to see!

We're planning on doing this, but I'm hoping to get away with doing the at home reception small too... ;)

I'd like to find a restaurant in town somewhere that can seat maybe 20 of us. I'm not going to invite distant relatives and friends that we don't see anymore to the reception, because I don't see the point.

I've got an AHR dress that I'm going to wear, but we haven't worked out what DF is wearing, because we haven't worked out what he'll be wearing to the wedding yet either...

My babysitter did this! She had her Escape wedding at Disney with about 10-15 guests. Then about a couple weeks later had her reception here with about 150 people. She wore her dress again, the bridal party and groom wore their same outfits too. It was great! She also had pictures from the Disney wedding at the reception.
