Not sure if this is the right place to post this.

Friends are getting married at Disney and I am looking for tips on something special we could do to make this special as a gift or a special gift we could have sent to their rooms etc.

They are getting married in a few weeks so need so wonderful tips or ideas. Unfortunately, we will not be there so need to be able to do anything over the phone or arrange prior to the big day.

Thanks for everyones idea ahead of time.

:groom: :bride:

Take a look at the Gifts of A Lifetime web page (google it) and check out the option of having a photographer follow them around snapping candid shots. It looked like a great idea for newly weds when I was surfing that page last night.

I've read about friends/family purchasing a photo session with a disney photographer in one of the parks-if they are not doing an in-park session with their package, that might be a good idea. Posting this over on the weddings and honeymoons board will probably get you a LOT of ideas! Good Luck! Also, look over there (on the weddings and honeymoons board)Disney has a 'florist' who does wonderful gift baskets and such.

My parents purchased a beautiful globe for my sister in wdw. It was of 5 famous couples each in wedding attire. One in a large globe and the other 4 around them. When wound all 5 danced to the music....it is beautiful. I believe it was $85, if you call disney merchandising I am sure you could have it sent to there room.

i got married at disney and i can say a nice thing that was done for us was we stayed at the grand floridian for a couple days for our honeymoon and we got a beautiful late breakfast on the balcony with a beautiful view of the castle the day after the wedding. it was a nice surprise and the people who sent it to us knew we would be sleeping in and not going to the parks so that was a nice gift.

we also reiceved a nice plate with bride mickey and minnie on it form my husbands niece with our wedding date and name on it that was special.

hey if all else you could give them disney dollars to spend down there on themselves that way you know they'll spned it on there honeymoon for themselves in disney.

good luck

Check out Disney Florist

They have some WDW-exclusive items that can only be delivered on property. A bit expensive, but some of the stuff is really cute! I bet you could find a great gift.

Side note -

We are traveling with friends who are most likely getting engaged at WDW. I have decorated a paint can (quart-size) with a wedding theme, and I will be putting a candle votive and holder inside it. I'm going to bring it on the plane with us, and if they do get engaged, I'm going to see if Guest Services will deliver it to their room. That way, they can have a little romance in WDW.

Hopefully, they get engaged or it will be taking up room in my suitcase for nothing!!! I may still give it to them anyway, since they live in a different state than us, and I will have to mail it when the time comes.

Wish I could be more specific - maybe someone else can add some insite to this:

I recently read someplace on these boards:
about a lady that does gift baskets/candies etc and the person mentioned that her things are really nice and they like better than WDW Florist offerings. Apparently she offers these for delivery to resorts etc.

I would love more info also. Anyone care to add any info?
Many Thanks!:sunny:

Hey if the couple is staying at Disney, get the name of the resort and call the hotel guest relations. They can arrange a few surprise (for a Disney Price) such as a room upgrade to a suite or to a better view, you could buy them a breakfast or a dinner at the best resort restaurant or at one of the better park restaurants (like Brown Derby at MGM or Le Cellier's at EPCOT) or you could have a basket of cheer sent to their room with chocolate and wine, or you can buy them a carriage ride at Port Orleans, very romantic. You can arrange for them to use the resorts mini boats or power sail. Call and talk to them they have some great ideas but be sure to tell them your budget; some of the stuff is very expensive. The one hour photo session at a Park is about $270. If you narrowed it down to a few choices then ask the DISers what is the better of the ideas. You will get great input. Give guest relations a call. Also remember that the couple may have planned to do other parks and restaurants on the days you picked for them to go power sailing or PS at a good place so you may have to talk to the couple about coordinating the gift.

As a future Disney bride, I agree with all of the above posts. All of them would be wonderful gifts!!!

HTH.

That's Feralpeg, and her baskets are stunning! You can PM her and she'll get back to you very quickly. As far as I know, she's still working on her website.

Take care,

Kris
