I have been trying to find something special to buy as a gift from myself to my son for his wedding day. I have already bought him a good watch when he graduated from college. He's not a cuff links kind of guy. I found a very nice card to give him personally the morning of his wedding as he gets dressed. He really isn't all that sentimental but I still would like him to have something. Does anyone have any other ideas?

What does he do for a job? Maybe a nice briefcase or laptop bag?

Does he wear any jewelry at all? Maybe a nice chain with a small charm, maybe something with the wedding date, or their birthstones? Nothing too corny, something he could wear at the pool without being embarrassed by his "jewelry" If you are religious, maybe a charm of the saint he is named for.
I know what you are asking though, you want something personal to him from you to recognize this milestone in his life. But something just for him not for the wife too. It's tough to be a parent of the groom, the groom is just someone who stands next to the bride who will get all the attention. (mother of 3 sons)
I sent my son and DIL to WDW for 2 weeks. They were definately happy with that gift.

Really, the card with a nice note is probably sufficient (most guys would agree), and the gift you give the couple will cover the "gifty" portion.

How about a nice leather travel bag that holds his tolietry items? Or some luggage?

Are they going on a honeymoon?

I would write a nice letter togo into the card. I probably wouldn't give a gift unless it was a joint gift, a nice luggage set for him and his wife is a nice idea.

A card with the promise to be kind to his new wife who you will love because he loves her is the greatest gift I can think of.

As for a physical thing men seem to love their watches, it's one of the few adornments most tolerate and keep for decades. Many men have collections that range for dressy, like the one I guess you already got him for graduation, to casual that can tolerate great depths of water (for some reason many men seem to like these even if they don't SCUBA - go figure I'm just an observer).

Oh, and Sunglasses, like Oakley ect. All the guys around here love their sunglasses especially the ones that allow the owner to switch out the lenses.

What about a money clip w/ his wedding date on it?

That way he'll never forget his anniversary! :lmao:

DH got a money clip as a groomsman gift w/ his initials, loves it, and uses it everyday.

Oh Sunglasses are a good idea:thumbsup2 DH likes Maui Jims if you are looking to get something very nice--and they last really well.

THis is what I think too ;)
Gave DS and DDIL a cruise for the wedding gift. Didn't need any separate things!
