Wedding Day Make up

I am getting married in NJ and I just got a quote from a make up artist. She is a friend of my hair stylist (who I love and have known for years) and charges $110.00 for the bride and $75.00 for the wedding party. I am just wondering if that is standard or if it seems pricey. I know nothing about make up so I have nothing to base my opinion on but that seems a little much to me. I trust my hair stylist reccomendation though so...

IS that just for your makeup,yes that is a lot.I work in a salon and its only 45 for make up and 45 for updos.

If you are going to a ritzy salon then that sounds about right,but I am here to tell you that talent is about the same everywhere. I used to work in an upscale salon and some of the people whould screw up hair like you would not believe,the salon I am in now we are all great and we never turn peoples hair green lol. trust me I don't like to disrespect other salons but let me tell you that the salon I used to work in is now closed!!

I work in a salon as well. for the bride our makeup applications run between $75-$90. for the bridal party we charge $40. hope this helps!!

That does seem a little steep. I was quoted $115 for my hair and make-up.

The make up artist is not from a salon, she is independent but the Hair Stylist works at Fantasy Cuts in Pompton Plains (she is awesome and I would pay tons to have her do my hair but she is very reasonable). Also, I am getting married on a Sunday so none of my stuff will be done in a salon and they will be coming to my house (maybe thats the reason for the high price). I do not know the make up artists name yet - my hair stylist is going to be giving me her card when I go in next. I will PM you when I know to see if you have heard of her. Until then I am going to keep on looking.

Well I had my hair done for $80ish and make-up was $65 I believe (this is a year ago). By the time we were done that morning, I was out about $1000

The killer was the MK bridal shoot at 4am. Hair/Makeup for that was $200.
