Hi everyone,

We're having a slight crisis with the wedding and need your brains! :lmao:

The guys are having a very unusual suit, black jacket and trousers, red waistcoats, white cravats and black wing collar shirts. So far this has been no problem, the hire shop can get all that in for us.

The problem is relating to one of our ushers who is 13 years old. The suit hire place cannot get hold of black shirts (with or without wing collars) in sizes below 14.5" collar, our usher is 13.5" so that is way too big.

We are really struggling to get hold of a black shirt for him from anywhere. We have looked online and only found one shop offering these shirts (black wing collar in a 13.5") we put an order in but the shop got back to us apologising that their website must be wrong, they don't stock such a shirt. Scott has just found another place online that claim to be offering a black shirt in his size but it doesn't have a wing collar, ideally we want that type otherwise he'll look a bit odd.

Can anyone think of anywhere that sells these kinds of shirts in small sizes? The wedding is in 18 days so we have to be able to order quickly which sort of rules out anything too far overseas.

Thank you guys!!

xxx

Cant offer any advice, But ahh I really do hope you get sorted out.

My brother got married a couple of monts ago and when I was getting my DS who was a page boy ready on the morning of the wedding (hes 6) but very small his shirt was an age 11 and huge, the shop had given us it by mistake, luckily with the tie and having to keep his jacket on all day no-one could tell once it was tucked into his trousers and the arms rolled up.:rotfl: Its funny now but I panicked at the time

Maybe try the 13.5 it might not be as bad as you think:confused3

Good Luck:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

I'd probably experiment with the 14.5 shirt and see if it would look OK under the jacket. Otherwise, the only thing I can think of is to get a smaller collar shirt in white and dye it black...

Fingers crossed you find a suitable solution asap...

There is a place in Reading called bride to be they do black wing collar shirts for boys and men sizes 10 to 23 inch collars. the wbe site is just
www.bridetobe.co.uk hope this helps.

Thank you Deedee, I just tried calling them as you can't buy online and they're only open 9.30am - 4.30pm so I'll try tomorrow. :)

Sorry no advice, but i really hope you get it sorted. But even if you can't get a wing collar-i am sure without will be just fine, don't let it upset your day.x.

Hope you get it sorted

can't believe it is only 18 days away

please do not stress out too much and try and enjoy the build up to the big day

If you cannot get what you really want can you dye a shirt with wing tips that fit black ? Maybe even get it done professionally so it does not turn grey ?

If its any good I could go and buy it for you on Friday and put it in the post to you the same day.

The website Claire recommended was showing the exact shirt we wanted, so last night Scott put in an order. We're now hoping their website was correct, unlike the other one! They've not called or emailed so far so fingers crossed.

Thanks to all of you for hunting these out, knew I could count on the DIS!

Hoping you get the shirt :)

No problem with searching the internet I enjoy a challenge like that!

Claire ;)

Just a thought :confused3
