Wedding Crasher question

Let me start out with the fact that we are having an Escape wedding at the WP in October. Due to the size of my DF's immediate family, we have made some decisions on what parts of the family we each can invite. We have decided that we will only go as far as aunts and uncles, no cousins. Neither of us would be able to invite all our cousins, so we had to do the fair thing.

My uncle decided to take it upon himself and invite cousins without our permission, which has been discussed with him and he understands. My cousin recently got married and they both have expressed the fact that they will be coming to WDW for the wedding. Well, my uncle was to tell them they are not invited. Whether or not he did, I don't know. I'm actually afraid they will try to come to the wedding. I will ensure that they know they cannot come, but there's no telling what they will do.

So, I ask, what kind of security is there to ensure only those invited are let into the venue? I hope this doesn't actually happen, but we cannot afford to have them show up and upset DF's family, plus we cannot have more than 18.

they know you are from texas, right/! that would scare me off that right there! this doens’t answer your question, and i know that escape and wishes are different, but i would ask the planner too about it because we did have people come (i will leave it at that!) to the wedding that weren’t able to be invited to the reception? again, i know the thing with the escape is different but also if you are moving to another venue to cut your cake (because i don’t *think* they do that right in the WP do they?) that could be the more “secure” location if you will? also, we did do an announcement because we webcasted the ceremony about how to watch it and the whole “we can only have so many” or some such wording so that message is a good one to repeat and repeat.

i don’t know who the people in this world are who DONT get invites but show up to things! so irritating. also, i’m sure if they do show up they will be wearing like shorts and t shirts!

i’m sure i just bummed you out, sorry. i would not stress on it too much. i think the planner can help you out and keep spreading the party line, hang in there!

I just heard from my coordinator for the first time with the email they send to everyone, so I will ask her after we really start working together.

There wasn't much family drama until my cousin married this girl!

I have seen several brides run into this situation over the years, and DFTW is always very vigilant about this if you let them know it could be a problem. Usually the crashers don't show, but if anything weird did happen, your planner and his/her assistants would handle it for you.

Unfortunately my husband had some problems with his step mother trying to create a big scene at our Wishes wedding (we warned our wedding planer in advance that this may happen). They got her out of there quickly and with out a scene at all. When talking to our guest after the wedding no one really knew anything was going on.

I have this worry also (Wedding Crashers)

I had a huge bust up last year with a cousin. The obsessed creep that she is has threatened to crash my wedding. Shes joking to my other cousin on facebook "wonder if we will get invites, would be rude if we didn't".

I might have blocked her on facebook but my Mum can see what she's posting to my other cousin. Pathetic that she's still obsessed with me and everything I do a year later. Shes in her 40s BTW, you would think she would just grow up.

So yeah she's plotting to crash my wedding on facebook and joking to anyone who will listen. If she did try to ruin my wedding I would actually kill her.
