My wife and I are going to DL and staying at Paradise Pier over our wedding anniversary. The anniverary timing is a coincidence -- we're going to SoCal for my cousin's wedding and making a week of it. I heard that if you drop a hint to a cast member at your DL hotel about it being your anniverary, you might get some extra perks, such as a room upgrade (depending on availability, I'm sure) or flowers in your room or something.

Does anyone know this to be true? And how would one drop the hint without being obvious? I'm not greedy -- it's really no big deal if we didn't have any extra perks, but I'd hate to miss out on something special since I don't know when or if we'll be back.

Thanks!

Congrats on your anniversary! Tell them when you are checking in that you are celebrating your anniversary while there.
I stayed at PPH for my anniversary in February and told them at check in. After checking in, they gave us a big bouquet of balloons, which I thought was sweet. After returning from the park that night, our room had turn down service and they had sprinkled rose petals all over the bed and spelled the word "Love" out on the bed,had classical music playing on the radio, and left two giant choc. covered mickey rice krispy treats for us. Here is my link from trip advisor with a small pic:

Last year we were there on our 9th wedding anniversary. My husband told them it was when he made the reservation for Goofy's Kitchen for breakfast. They came with a special little cup cake, that had a candle on it, and an all chocolate mickey face. Chip brought it with a cast member. I thought that was really sweet.

We went on our anniversary once, and stayed at the GCH. I told them when I reserved the room that it was for our anniversary. When we got to our room, there was a card from a "Disney couple" (can't remember who--maybe Cinderella and Prince Charming?) and some choc. dipped strawberries.

We also told them at the Napa Rose restaurant when we ate there, and we got a free little anniversary dessert sampler with chocolates.

It's always good to let them know at every point. You never know what kind of pixie dust might be sprinkled your way!
