Magic Kingdom

We decided to eat out today and headed to IHOP on the 192.

Gianni had his Silver 5; Gabs – French Toast; Enz – the buffet and I had the Nut n Grain Pancakes and oodles of maple syrup.

Took a while to get the food but we left there feeling nicely podged.

We decided to go to the Magic Kingdom and arrived at about 11ish.

We did Buzz’s Ranger Spin – I won :Pinkbounc . Stitch’s Great Escape was followed by the Tomorrowland Transit Authority & Space Mountain. Any rides that were air conditioned were going to win our love today!

From Tomorrowland we walked to Mickey’s Toontown Fair where the children got soaked on Donald’s Boat before we boarded the train for Frontierland.

We wanted to do the 2 Mountains here – Splash had an hour’s wait so we grabbed the good old Fastpasses and made our way to Big Thunder Mountain where we queued for 20 minutes.

More air-con was needed so we headed to the Columbia Harbour House for a bit to eat. It was gone 2pm by now and we were STARVING!!! The kids had the Mac n Cheese, grapes and Goldfish crackers; Enz had a bowl of chilli (as you do when it’s baking hot out!) and I had the hummus and broccoli slaw sandwich.

It was nearly 3 o’clock when we came out so Enz and the kids went to ride Splash.

I didn’t feel like getting wet so found a nice little stop to swelter and watch the parade which was lovely, short and sweet.

It was so so hot today and by 4 o’clock we were pooped and wilting so decided to head back home. We stopped to buy Gianni an ice-cream in Adventureland and both of the children had rice crispie treat from the Main Street Bakery.

As we waited to get the Monorail to get back to the car park the wind had really picked up and the clouds were really dark. The boat had been cancelled back! Leaves were being blown all over the place and I had to chase my cap! We were getting a bit worried!

There was so much we didn’t get to do in the Magic Kingdom this year but the fact that it was hot and we’re all booked up for October 2006 didn’t make it feel so bad. I normally make the family rush around and I have everything planned down to the last detail before we hit a park because it might be the last time we ever come here (yeah yeah, who am I kidding!).

We didn’t do Mickey’s Philharmagic, which we love, or the re-vamped It’s a Small World and I really really wanted to have an ice-cream cookie from the shop on Main Street but I didn’t feel like eating much in the heat.

We were pleasantly surprised, as was the case at all the parks, that the queues were nice and short. I think we’d timed the holiday to coincide with the schools in Florida starting back – woo hoo!

There was a pleasant breeze by the time we got back to ‘our’ pool – the threatening weather of earlier came to nothing.

I could quite easily have fallen asleep early this evening but no chance!

Gianni had spent so much time in the pool on the last couple of evenings that the rough floor in the pool had scraped the skin off the underside of his toes and they were bleeding! OUCH!

We all showered and dressed and headed to Walgreens for Band Aid – Enz stayed in the car with Gianni whilst Gabs and I went in to get the plaster. Big mistake on Enz’s part really lol I came out with 2 carrier bags of stuff :teeth: I justified it by having bought some heat pads for Enz’s bad back which were 2 boxes for $7 which I’m sure was a bargain.

We left the Walgreens car park and travelled along on one of our ‘Where shall we eat?’ type of drives with questions of ‘what about there?’ and replies of ‘No I don’t fancy there’.

We eventually stopped at the Uno Pizzeria just past Old Town – it’s hard to make decisions!

We shared a mixed platter starter and for main Gabs had a pizza, Enz a shrimp & steak skewer, I had shrimp and Gianni, not finding anything to his taste on the kids menu, had a baby rack of ribs.

A couple of cheesecakes to share and $100 including tip later you’ll not believe what we did – yep we waddled out of there.

The intake of so much food made us feel very sleepy so Enz drove ‘home’ whilst I slept – just for a change ;)

We did a lot of driving on this trip with the Villa being a fair way out, and I commented to Enz that if I’d been on my own with the kids I never would have made it back every night – I would have had to check into a hotel for an overnight stop lol

Another great day ~ Thanx for posting :goodvibes

I decided not to worry if my daily park plans goes awry, I know i'll be back!

We go in August too and it is very difficult with the heat but it sounded like you had a great day.
Where was your villa located?

The villa was at Tuscan Ridge - just a bit too far really with wanting to go back and forth.

It can be a bit of a trek sometimes, we booked a villa in the Davenport area our first time in a home, but much prefer just off the 192 now in Kissimmee.
