Does anybody know of some? Appropriate for a 5th grader?

Or know of some really good ideas?
Thanks!!!

Is this for a science fair? My DD11 has entered the fair each year. Ours is in January. This year she is testing our cats to see if they are left pawed or right pawed for the science fair. At least she is going to try. :goodvibes

Very cute!
It is for her science class -they have to do 2 one the first half of the year and one the second. She just finished the first -and wants to get a head start on the second.

This is for the science fair that is coming up in January. All the schools in the district have studenst who do a science project for ribbons. So far DD has won several first place but mostly 2nd place ribbons.

My 5th grade ds did an experiment to find out if different brands of popcorn produce the same amount of uncooked kernels. We bought different brands of popcorn, measured out the exact same number of cups and used the exact same popcorn popper with the same parameters. His teacher was happy that we did something "outside the box"

If you search for Science Fair projects you will come up with 1000's of hits. I hate science fair projects by the way!

DS was going to do a good one, but the weather didn't cooperate. He was going to test sunscreens. He was going to tape off sections of DH's arms/legs and apply the same amount of sunscreen to each section (1/2 tsp or something for a 4" section) and see which ones worked the best (if the SPF makes a difference or not AND if a name brand is better then a generic). Maybe when they are in 6th grade and have to do that again.

Thanks again everyone. Golf gal -I know I could search -but there are so many and some of them aren't very good sites that I thought you guys might be able to point me straight to some good ones. And you did! The sunscreen idea is very good!

I wish we could have done that one. DH is very fair skinned so it would have been easy but we didn't have any "tanning" kind of sun when the kids were working on their project. It would also be useful. When you go to the science fair you see about 20 "which paper towel is stronger" or "which battery lasts longer" or "how many kernels does this kind of popcorn pop" projects that it is nice to see something different.
