Can anyone list the sites they know of where you can make the online photo books? Any of them better quality than the others?

For Christmas, I'm going to make up a photo book for my dad, that's going to probably turn out to be about 50 pages... so looking for any deals going on also.

Thanks!

I've done Walmart and Shutterfly. Walmart is cheaper, but Shutterfly has more options for texts and backgrounds. When you sign up for a user name and password, you get on their list for specials by e-mail. They seem to have different specials quite often. I don't know what the current one is. I've been deleting the e-mails since I'm not making one in the near future. Good luck! I've never been a scrapbooker, but I enjoy making the photo albums online. My older kids are jealous of the baby book I did for my youngest:)

I love Shutterfly. Just start making the book now, then wait for coupon codes to come out. Then you'll be ready to order when the deal is good! They always have deals.

Watch Groupon. I've seen Mixbook groupons on there lately. Pay $15 for $50 worth of photobooks. It's a great deal! I have friends that have used Mixbook and love them. My first experience with them will be using the groupons I've purchased and getting Christmas gifts.

Thanks for the quick replies!

I just checked out both Shutterfly and Mixbook and it's going to be a tough decision which one to use.

Shutterfly seems to be easier to use in terms of making sure pictures are lining up properly, etc.. but Mixbook seems to have a lot more of the clipart/backgrounds I would love to use (it's going to be a book of nature photos my dad has taken).

Wish I could see them in person to see if the quality is better on one site over the other.

I see where there's an active Groupon I could get for Mixbooks right now, which would definitely help.

Thanks again for the help!

I've used Shutterfly, Snapfish and mypublisher.com. I really like Shutterfly, but cost-wise, mypublisher is where I've gotten most of my books. They seem to have 50 percent off sales often. Snappish is my least favorite...I don't think their quality is as good.

I used to use Shutterfly but now I use Blurb. You can size your text boxes and pictures and put them anywhere on the page that you want.

I've made books with snapfish for years and they are great!!!
If you can get started on it NOW they are having a GREAT sale-
buy 1 get 2 free!!! DOES NOT HAVE TO BE 3 OF THE SAME BOOKS!!!
sale is for the 8X8 size I believe.

This is a great website for comparing and finding deals http://www.photobookgirl.com/

Thank you for that site! Very helpful!!

I think I'm going to stick with shutterfly... I tried a few of the other sites as well, started making books in all of them, and to me, shutterfly seems the best for what I'm looking for and is the easiest for me to use.

So going to make up the book in the next few weeks and sure hope a coupon code comes out, or this is going to get very expensive.

The new custom path in Shutterfly really allows you a lot of flexibility with your layouts. Once you start playing with it you'll see how many options there really are. Tons of backgrounds and photo arrangements, movable text boxes, clip art/embellishments to add. It is really cool. I use a digital scrapbooking program for a lot of my pages, but Shutterfly has some fantastic options now, too. Have fun with your book! And keep in mind that even at full price, those books are worth it! Think about how much we all used to pay for photo developing and albums! And half the time the photos never made it into them!

If only I'd read your post yesterday. I had a shutterfly coupon for books starting at $15. Shutterfly coupons are often unique codes so make sure to sign up for their e-mails. I get lots of coupons from them, so many I don't end up using half of them.

I have tried many different companies, but Shutterfly has the best print quality IMO. I also like the layouts, different backgrounds, borders, ect.... They run sales all the time so just wait for a sale before you order. You can also find some gift cards and codes on ebay.

Love shutterfly. I even use them for weddings I shoot.
They are also very liberal with their promo codes, sign up with different emails. This morning I got 3 emails with different codes for free books:goodvibes

:cool1: That is a great deal. Snapfish has good quality. I will need to get a move on and get some books done. :yay:

I have used Shutterfly for a few years now. I was getting tired of the same old backgrounds. I'm so glad they upgraded and added some new things. I just wish I was savvy enough to make a create your own page. Some of those pages that people make are gorgeous especially the Disney themed ones. Right now they are offering 20% off photo books and free shipping on orders over 30.00.

It really isn't that hard. Check out the scrapbooking area of the DIS for some digital scrapping ideas, see my book in my sigyy or head to www.mousescrappers.com or www.scrappingthemagic.com for some more inspiration. Digital scrapbooking is actually pretty simple and fun, too.

Hmmm, my siggy link is messed up. Use this one instead: http://www.shutterfly.com/gallery/post/start.sfly?postId=/gallery/1/post/GMGDBg4ZNGjFs1aDtWegPA

I use winkflash. They have lots of deals for flat-rate prices on all books (up to 100 pages)

I've had good luck with Shutterfly. They also have good coupons if you sign up for a free account. I usually wait until they send a 50% off coupon to order. You can make the photobooks online and then hold them there until you get a coupon.
