The DIS has a Pin Trading Etiquette 101 area with the rules for pin trading at WDW, and the DIS Collectors Board FAQ also has some basic information on trading and on the Collectors Board. Links to both are in my signature below.
There are a few unofficial web sites I can recommend. Dizpins.com and Dizneypins.com are news and information websites that report on current and upcoming pin releases and events. Pinpics.com is basically an online pin catalog, with pictures and information about various pins. They have focused mostly on Disney pins but have recently started including Olympic pins. Also, Disney is apparently working on an official pin trading web site, and I'm sure when it's up and running you'll hear about it here.
I'm going to move this over to the main Collectors Board, where there's more traffic. I have to finish getting ready so I'll let others tell you about the supertraders, Scoop Sanderson, and the Friday night meet.
