So we are now a 2 computer family. My son is nine and would like to check out some websites. What are your kids fav sites to go on? Learning games, just fun, or anything really.

Thanks all!

When I was younger I would go on club penguin. Theres games on there and is monitored very well. You get a small penguin you can dress it up and walk around the small town. Also if your worried about email and such through AOL there is a child friendly email which only some emails are accepted and I belivee its once a month you will get an email telling you the websites your DS has been on and the emails he has recieved.

My kids used to love Millsberry.com
I just asked my DD and she can't think of any more.

My son is 9 also and he loves poptropica.com and lego.com ~ you can play games on both.

My girls liked pbskids.org and also webkinz, but you have to buy a webkinz to play there. It's a good site, though, It teaches kids to save up for something they want (they get points for playing the games and they can "buy" things for their pet with the points), and many of the games are educational.

My son is 9 and these are his two favorites as well.
I just asked him what else he likes and he says cartoonnetwork.com, agame.com, funbrain.com and goosebumps.com:banana:<--He wanted me to add that..

DS loves coolmath4kids.com, neopets.com, lego.com shoot, he has a huge list - I'll try to ask him tomorrow.

DS8 goes on Webkinz, Addicting Games, Neopets, FunBrain and Just Kids Games (this last one is educational and fun, and his teacher has used it in their class). He also goes to Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and Disney's web sites for the games as well.

Just a word of caution if you go to Addicting Games. Be careful and watch what your child plays. Most games are ok, but there are some that I recently found out, are not appropriate for younger kids.

DS8 was playing a game that I thought was kind of harmless about a turtle. Turns out it was about shooting a turtle out of a cannon, then shooting him while he was in the air (and yes, there was blood shown with every hit) and watching where he lands (also showing a trail of blood from the turtle as it was sliding on the ground). I immediately told him to stop playing and find another game to play that is more appropriate. The game was a bit too graphic for a child who is just 8 years old, IMO.
