Don't forget the system will be down for maintenance on Monday, February 6 @ 11:30 PM until the next morning at 8:00 AM.
Who thinks there is a good chance it will not be available at 8 ?
Now - I CHECKED this downtime notice the evening of the 5th.
The notice is only in the "Messages" link - NOT on the home page. So? If one does not carefully check Messages? VERY poor downtime notification. Downtime Notifications belong on the MAIN SITE HOME PAGE - you will notice that this is where your BANK puts them.
Please - forgive me for the rant.... I pioneered Web Technology for a Major Fortune 50. From 1993 through 2007. When everything had to be coded in C.
Today? There are a number of 14 year olds that know more about running a serious Web Site than whatever looser "staff" WDW is working with.
Rule #1 - don't confuse the customer. GOOD that a downtime has been posted. VERY BAD that it got HIDDEN. Downtime notifications should either pop up and hit one in the face, or be RIGHT on the login page. Why did this not occur? It's a Web page - the notice SHOULD BE simple text. Insert it.....
But they can't. Because the site is literally crippled with enough Cascading Style Sheets to bring a heart attack to any coder that just wants to insert a downtime notice. The site has been engineered as a nightmare.
Again - sorry. Just me.... these people SERIOUSLY need a decent Web Architect.....
