Can anyone tell me how is the weather? I'm planning to visit Disneyland Magic Kingdom this weekend, but I saw on the weather channel it is going to be at 95 Fahrenheit degrees. It's that too warm? Should I wait one more week? Thank you in advance.

It's hot. It's only going to get hotter as the summer goes on, though it looks like Friday and Saturday are going to be the peak of the hot days this week. It's been a particularly hot summer in SoCal so far, I don't anticipate that is going to change much. If you don't want hot, wait until September or October. The good thing is that there are ways to escape the heat at Disneyland.

It's hot with limited shade. If you keep a cold water with you at all times and go on rides that have air conditioning, you'll be okay. If it is very crowded, it's difficult as it will be extremely difficult to ever find a place in the shade to sit down.

It is a family trip, but they didn't consider the weather, and my blood pressure tends to go down in the summer. That's why I was really concerned. Thank you for your advice!

Its hot, but they upgraded the asphalt to not melt anymore like opening day. Just stay hydrated and take breaks on dark rides.

I always think the parks feel about 10 degrees warmer than outside of them. All the concrete and bodies make a huge difference.

I've gotten sunburns under hats from the sun reflecting off the ground, especially in Tomorrowland. I find it's more bearable if you keep moving, even at a slow pace over staying in one place. Even sitting in the shade can become hot, whereas on a slow walk in and out of shade you'll often run into areas with breezes and cooler temps.

It's going to be really hot. A 95 degree day will easily be 100 in the parks and feel hotter. We are going on Sunday and I'm planning on taking twice as much water as we usually do, bringing mister fans and cooling towels, playing in the two splash pads at DCA, riding as many dark rides as possible, and taking a hotel/nap break midday when temperatures will be the hottest.

good humor, works well for the topic today.......but the myth is still a myth...yes there was asphalt that was soft, and that asphalt was over newly covered ditches that were dug the night before to install bathrooms and so it was very likely that the asphalt could have taken a few heels off the finely dressed women, but it was not park wide melting.....however this does support the myth about why the bathrooms have never been remodeled....they might find that tar cover high heel.!!!!

Is there any breeze in daytime? It's been in the 90s here too but I've been finding that a damp long-sleeve rashguard actually feels cooler than skimpier clothes if the air is moving. Was hoping I could do that at DL in August to reduce the sunscreen hassles.

I've had my SHOES melted by asphalt before, and been on sticky fresh asphalt, but... yeah.

I'm figuring the weather next week when we're there won't be any worse than here in Houston since the humidity is the killer. It's one of the reasons we chose DL over WDW.

I'm still considering picking up either some mist fans or cool towels to bring though.

It's been pretty hot lately, last weekend it wasn't TOO bad 75-80 or so. But the weekend before that it was like 90.. Prepare yourself for the worst and you won't be disappointed!

I humbly suggest if staying in the parks from opening to closing without a break back to the hotel to swim, nap, etc, make a late lunch ressie at Carnation Cafe and ask to sit inside. You will miss the lunch and dinner rush, you are out of the heat of the day and you will be able to cool down, enjoy some really good food in a wonderful restaurant on Main Street.
You could also take a break and catch a movie in DTD at the AMC theater. (We usually see at least one movie when we go), then have a late lunch/early dinner at a restaurant in DTD. Plan lighter meals during the day, for example, there are many options for great salads in both parks. Many are big enough to share! Plus, this helps saves room for a frozen lemonade, or a pear o dice drink, or, a Mickey Bar, or... you get the picture. On hot days, it is easier to snack/share meals your way through the parks, especially if the food cools you down. Fresh fruit is sold through the park too.
In DCA, you can pop into Fidler's Fifer and Practical and grab your favorite Starbucks, find a window seat and relax in the air conditioned building while watching the hustle and bustle on Buena Vista Street. If you are hungry, and need some quiet time, go to Whitewater Snacks and relax on the covered patio while eating. Such a great spot to relax, eat and plan what to do next without feeling rushed. Plus, sitting outside, you can peak through the slats of the fence into DCA!
Animation Academy is fun to do during the hot part of the day. There are a few things inside the building to do that could keep you occupied from opening to close.

....with all the concrete.... no shade to wait .....for folks out of shape......90 degrees is too warm.
Husband: It's only projected to be in the 80s! Great! Perfect!
Me: 80s? On reflective concrete? Let's plan our cold-inside afternoon ideas please.

Next summer, I'm taking my thermometer to see the actual temp coming off that concrete!

yes!!!! that thermometer will be great to see if the cookies are done on the new thunder mt trail.....looks like a great reflective oven area.....at one time that area was our oasis under all those shade generating trees.....and now....the smell of cookies wafting to all those folks on the train above!!!!

Preparing for the worst still has to be better than WDW in the summer right?

I'm from Ohio and those Florida summers at the parks are just unbearable for us. It's always a real challenge when we go there in the summer.

So when I imagine the "worst" in CA it's still not as bad as Florida right? For those of you that have done summer at both?

The temperatures will be similar in Florida and California in the summer. The difference is the humidity in Florida (rain every day), while California summers are often dry heat.
