I'll be sailing on the Disney Dream for the first time next Friday for the double dip. Looking at my weather app it seems that their is a chance of a thunderstorm during the day I planned to parasail at Castaway Cay. Does this usually mean it will be cancelled? I know the weather might still change by then but i'm pretty bummed because this is the only excursion I have planned. :(

It's not unusual for the Bahamas to get some rain each day. If you're planning on parasailing, I'd say book it. If the wind is too strong for it, it will get cancelled, but at least you won't be out any money.

There is always a chance for parasailing to be canceled because of wind and/or rain. With that in mind just have the attitude of I hope it happens but if not I'll survive and still make a great day out of it. Our first time going to CC we couldn't even dock and ended up having just an amazing day at sea, they took great care of us. I wish you happy sailing and hope you are able to go parasailing, it really is a great time.

The weather will be the weather. Worrying doesn't change that. Just book it and accept that ik can be cancelled for bad weather. Either way you will have a great cruise! Don't let this spoil all the fun you will have.
Enjoy.

What is the song, don't worry be happy. This is what you have to do when sailing/vacationing/ok, living life. Weather will do what it wants to do when it wants to do. You cannot control it, so don't let it control your mood. Sure, it is disappointing, but stuff happens, not the end of the world. Hope you have sunny skies and it is not windy so you can para sail! Best of luck to you!

Once when we were at castaway it rained for about an hour then it was sunny and hot!
They will put its suppose to rain even if its only for a short time, don't worry, they will sometimes reschedule your excursion with you if they are able to and it works for both schedules.
Have a great time :)

We were there in, hmm, October I think, it was a double dip. One day just about everything was cancelled b/c of winds. There was no wind on the beach, but there was enough up where you parasail that it wasn't safe. (not sure why the boat stuff got cancelled but wind was the reason given though there was no wind on us on the beach)

Weather happens, weather changes. Don't worry, because no worrying can change the weather.

You will more than probably be fine!

like WDW, there will likely be rain somewhere you are down there each day. but not for long usually. i think parasailing gets cancelled a fair amount for wind, people recommend earlier times rather than late. it's more unusual you would have some kind of nonstop downpour or really bad storm, if possible, the ships try to avoid them and can sometimes reorder port days. YMMV.

No one controls the weather, so best to try and relax and enjoy whatever comes. Our Castaway day it was supposed to rain-all day. Even one of the ship's officers on the day before we were to arrive said it looked gloomy. But that morning- a few drops and than lovely sun and clouds. Rained as we were getting ready to leave. Weather like showers and such are so unpredictable. I am sure you will have a great time no matter what comes. :)
