Weather-wise - what do you consider "hot"?

I'm good to about 105 degrees with low humidity. Low desert low humidity! *LOL*

If the dewpoint is much above 45 degrees, I'm pretty uncomfortable in the 80s. The higher the dewpoint, the lower the tolerance for heat! :)

Chicago born and raised. However, I’ve spent the last 20 years in South TX. It was 98 yesterday. I find that scorching. The hot months are July and August. To me, I can start to feel the heat at anything above 85 with no humidity and 80 with it. I prefer high 60s to low 80s, without the humidity. The humidity is the worst of it. Of course, I would prefer to wear jeans almost everyday of my life.

Well, it was 81 today & I came inside b/c I was chilly. I don't get really hot until it's in the upper 90s. Even then, I'm ok as long as I'm doing something fun! We always go to WDW in May/June and have never thought that it was too hot.

I've lived up north my whole life... it starts to feel hot at 80, and by 90, I'm wilting. I hope to survive next week at WDW...

I'm happy in the 60's, and don't wear a coat until it's near freezing temps.

I'm with you, OP. And I'm also a New Englander! We're also going in October, and I hope it's not too bad. Frankly, anything over 85 is too much for me. And I agree with PP that it's the humidity that kills me.

I'm also worried about our trip to Storyland (I'm SURE you know where this is!;) )this summer. We normally go in June, but this year it will be in August. I hope it's not too awful! :wizard:

I was down across the street from disneyland last weekend. It was at least 100 degrees and I felt so thrilled I wasn't there. I felt so sorry for everyone. Make sure you plan to go to the pool mid day.

I have only been to orlando in the summer. Most of the time I am ok but one time we were at AK and I got so sick. It was probably extra humid that day but I am on medication that makes me heat sensitive and it was just brutal. I was fine the next day at IOA though.

As a NJ transplant who has lived in Florida for just about 10 years now, I can tell you that you DO acclimate to the heat and humidity. I don't even burn anymore, I just get slightly red. Really what makes people so miserable is the combination of heat and humidity-the humidity wears you down and makes everything generally uncomfortable. That being said, if you're not used to a hot sun, and you're visiting during the summer, wear sunscreen, and consider a hat and sunglasses, too. Oh, and BE CAREFUL about how much time you spend in the pool, making sure to reapply sunscreen. A few years back I gave myself a nice case of sun poisoning by relaxing in the pool for 3 hours, the sun reflecting off the water like glass, it burned me bad!

I lived in Alabama till after college and have gone to the Caribbean in July many a time - the one thing that really gets me is the humidity! But, hey we'll be making the best of it when we go in June we'll be at the "world" :lmao: and it has to be better than last July in San Juan, PR while we were touring it and the temp was 92 with 100% humidity :rotfl2:
