Weather question

Please no sarcastic answers.

I understand that it rains almost every day in August, and that it is usually in the afternoon/eve. Does it generally rain more than once? I mean, does it rain for an hour at 4:00 and then again at 8:00 or is it usually just one storm that passes through? I am sure that there is a 'normal' pattern and thats what I am looking for. Im sorry if this is a stupid question, I really am curious.

Also, is it still really warm when it rains or does it get cool? Ive never really been in a tropical area. We live in S. California but we dont usually have any rain during the summer.

Well, I'm from California and I was a bit shock on how much it rains in Florida. The weather is definitely a guessing game in Florida. We went to WDW in August 2002 and it rained like cats and dogs every evening we were their except the first evening. However, it is also a hit or miss thing because my friend from MA was there the week before and all her evening were clear and beautiful.

So I had to laugh at your post because I was so SHOCK on the amount of rain there is in Florida (hence as to why it is so green). We definitely live in the desert. Anyways, during our trip at that time it rain for 4 hours straight every evening except for the 1st. It was horrible. I remember us being at Epcot and it was raining so hard and we were trying to make the best of it but the water was so deep we had to leave. The same happened when we were at AK. The rain was horrible.

However, I don't want to scare you away because it is still a magical place. I think I would have been less disappointed had somebody warned me. So my advice if you attend some of the indoor shows during the raining time go for it. Or you can go out to dinner at one of the many themed resort restaurants. There is a lot to do that doesn't involved being outside. We did a lot of our touring in the morning then, went back to the hotel for a swim. We had every intention of going outside again but it rained. In the end it worked for us because our kids were mostly tired anyways.

We loved Disney so much that we bought into DVC. So whatever you do don't visit a guide when it is raining. LOL.... You just might buy!

It all depends on the day. Usually it will rain just once but we have had occassions where it will rain for 10-15 minutes several times over a 4-5 hour time span. The storms can also last for a while depending on why they started in the first place.
