There have been more afternoon showers this past week then we had had for a while (at least in my part of Orlando) - but those days the % was closer to 50 - 60%. 30% - 40% is pretty normal (what some might call AUTO REPLAY weather here in Central FL - 92%, hot humid and a 30-40% chance of scattered showers!)
Showers are widely scattered, and usually occur anytime from early afternoon to later afternoon early evening. There is no real rhyme, reason or schedule to them. Some are quick - others last longer. Some are real washout - downpours, others are lighter.
I would not let them ruin your day - if you are in a park and it's lightening, some rides might close, and you might want to take cover, other than that... put on a poncho if you want and have a great time.
(PS - the notion that they COOL things off is just not so for the most part... it's just a humid afterward as before..... )
Last evening when we left the house around 6:45 after a storm - the road was "steaming" and there was a full beautiful rainbow in the sky!!!! That's what I love about the late afternoon storms - the rainbows!
