Weather looks lousy for our trip

I just looked at weather.com, to check the forcast for our trip (june 30-july 5) Things are not looking good. Every single day it is calling for scattered T-showers) I want this vacation to be great, I don't want it to rain every day. Anyone ever go to Disney and have it rain the whole time? How did you still enjoy yourself?

Scattered means just that ... scattered. It can be raining for one minute and then perfectly clear a couple of minutes later. And, even though it's calling for rain in Orlando, that doesn't mean it will rain in Disney.

I've never gone for more than 3 days at a time, but I've had it rain on more occasions than I can possibly remember, so I can't say that it "ruined" my vacation. However, bring ponchos if you're worried about getting wet. Remember, you aren't made of sugar, so you won't melt. Most people hightail it out of the parks when it rains, but it's so pretty afterwards. Also, you can get some shopping done in most parks, without even going outside, just go store to store.

If you're bringing young kids, and are worried about them getting sick with the rain, bring a rain shield for the stroller, and some ponchos. Before I had my daughter, as long as it wasn't thundering, we would walk down Main Street like total goons, now that I have Julie, I usually stop to make sure she's covered up before going on my way.

Also, keep in mind that Florida is in one of the worst droughts we've seen in years. We really NEED the rain. That might make you see the rain in a new light.

We've been four times in the summer (twice in June and twice in Aug.) and it usually does rain every day. However, it usually lasts only an hour or so, if that, and it's usually in the heat of the afternoon when we're ready for a break anyway. It's a great time to go back to the room, take a nap or rest time, or have a relaxing sit-down meal somewhere. And if the rain lasts longer, just put on those ponchos and go! The lines are usually shorter!

it rains every day in Florida this time of year....it usually only lasts minutes at a time. You will enjoy cooling off with the sprinkles. Remember, the weather forecasts are not perfect and you may have way more sunshine than you expect.

Bring Ponchos or buy them when you get to the parks (and bring a plastic bag to store them in after they get wet.
Get to the parks as early as you can and get as much done then.
If it rains..oh well.... throw on the ponchos and go about your day..most kids think its cool that they get to walk around in the rain anyway..lol
If you have a stroller, make sure you bring a rain cover if you have one..that way you can cover the stroller up when you go on a ride in case it rains while you are gone
Just have fun, dont stress about the rain...sometimes it rains for a few minutes, sometimes a few hours and sometimes just one one side of the street..lol

It was calling for rain everyday of our trip last month and I was worried too. Actually it was calling for thunderstorms everyday. We were there Sunday - Saturday. It sprinkled on us for about 15 minutes on Monday. Then sprinkled again on Thursday evening for about 30 minutes. And it did rain hard for maybe an hour that Friday evening. NO thunderstorms. No big deal. I don't think it actually rains for an entire day in Orlando! If it does rain, don't let it ruin your day. Most likely it will pass very soon and it will be steaming hot after it does!!

Don't fret! As someone that has lived in central Florida for the past 10 years, this is summer, and it is the rainy season. Now, that being said, everyone is right that our summer thunderstorms don't last long. They are usually quick moving and don't last more than an hour at the very most. Usually, the skies get dark, the rain comes, and it's over almost as quickly as it started.

Take your ponchos, and use the quick thunderstorms to duck into shows or do some souveneir shopping. By the time that the show or shopping is done, the thunderstorms will be over too.

We leave tomorrow morning at 8am. I just checked accuweather...every day there are thunderstorms, until our last day...7/2 I hope it's really just the hour a day ones.

Honestly, rainy days mean fewer people in the parks and shorter lines!!! We just gear up w/umbrellas and ponchos and go on our merry way!

One year, we went in early June and it rained almost every day, all day and we made the most of it. When you're paying that kind of money, you just go out and have fun!

I agree with everyone else. Being from the south this is just normal weather. Around here it usually will rain at certain times only. Just enjoy the sudden cooldown in temperature

Week of: 7/11-7/18 thunderstorms will be severe! You shoud immediately head out of the parks at first sign of sprinkles and take cover for the rest of the day.

When we went in JAn/ Feb I would check the weather everyday before our trip. Every day the weather report got worse. It called for thunderstorms and rain the whole time we were to be there, However, it only sprinkled a couple of times and it rained hard one day for about 30 minutes. So don't be discouraged the weather is always changing there. Enjoy

Rain does not an imperfect vacation make anymore than not getting the perfect spot for Wishes or the parade or the restaurant running out of the one dessert you had your eye on. What makes a PERFECT vacation is YOU. Your attitude, your decision to have fun, no matter what, your flexibility when dealing with whatever comes your way. (even vomiting children...BTDT) Ponchos are cheap, crocs are great in the rain, and lines will be considerably shorter when everyone else poops out b/c of a little water falling from the sky. Think of rain as liquid pixie dust!!!

DH and I went once in Sept where it rained everyday almost all day/night. At the end of the trip we were tired of all the rain but during the trip it didn't effect us. The attractions were all open and running with NO crowds! We got to do so much with no waiting. We just bought ponchos and went on with it.

DD and I went last september where it called for the scattered tstorms everyday. We had amazing weather! One day it did storm while we were in A Bugs Life and never even knew accept the stroller was wet.

We are going June 29 - July 6 (leaving Friday ). I looked at the weather and thought it was pretty good. Scattered thunderstorms are nothing.

Last year we had two really rainy days - I mean so rainy that despite the ponchos we were soaked and ended up back at the hotel and didn't go back out again. There were CMs playing games with kids in the lobby so not all was lost. I did get a little sick of Roaring Forks though.

I am quite happy with the upcoming forecast.

us to we are going from 6/29 - 7/9. At least it isn't the shore where there is nothing to do. There is a pool and hopefully there is no thunder and lightening. I will go to dollar tree and get ponchos. We rented a house and I have to spend rainy days in the house with the kids here, that is not my idea of fun on vacation. No flaming me but vacation means time off for me. No cleaning, no cooking and no dealing with kids in the house. I am not happy about the forecast at all.
