Weather info

We are going for the first time in between Christmas and New Years.. Requesting help from others who have gone at this time of year on how to pack. I hate having to wear jeans and hope that the temps will be decent enough for shorts.

I realize that the weather isnt always the same year after year but if we see a pattern in answers then that should help in our decisions.

Thanks in advance for helping with this minor piece of the puzzle

Weather in Florida is very unpredictable that time of year. Last year it was in the 80s that week. Other times it can be cold. Actually you need to pack an aray of items and plan for layers. Bring shorts and jeans. Also bring a sweatshirt and/or jacket. Weather can vary from day to day. it can also change considerably from day to day - so be sure to recheck the forecast each evening for the following day.

We were there last year the week before Christmas and it was pretty warm. In the low 80's all week. We too are going between x-mas and new year. I am packing convertible pants, these are the ones the legs zip off of. Columbia Sports Wear makes some really comfy ones found at Gander Mnt. Hoping for great weather though.

I wore shorts last December (second week). Was a little cool one night.
But you will need to pack both longs and shorts.

Been there in Dec. many times and as others have said it can be 80s or 60s bring a little of everything.

in central Florida two years ago the week of New Years. When we arrived the temperature was in the 80s. Three days later it never got out of the 40s. But I have also been in March (1993) when it hit the 30s while at WDW. Maybe it's just me.

Check the ten day forecasts and pack layers. Even when the nights are cool or cold (1993) the day isn't always bad.

I was there last year during that exact week. It was probably 70 during the day and in the 50's at night. During the day we wore t-shirts and jeans or I wore capri pants. We brought sweatshirts in a backpack pretty much every day to be safe. Only one night we didn't need them. We were completely comfy with the sweatshirt. I don't remember wearing shorts any day. LIke I said, the capri pants or longer bermuda shorts were fine most days. Unfortunately you're going to have to check the weather forecast daily while you're there and check weather.com before you go. Depending on how long you're going for, plan on wearing things twice so you don't pack as much. I am going in Jan this year so I am planning on the same type of weather as before. As much as it can be a pain for packing, I'd rather this weather than the killer heat/humidity in the summer!
